Charlize Theron went on Watch What Happens with Andy Cohen to promote her film Long Shot and was asked by a caller if it was true that she turned down the role of Wonder Woman. Charlize said no, she did not turn down the role of Wonder Woman. She says she was told that she was approached for the movie Wonder Woman but she was unsure as she wasn't familiar with and didn't really know what Wonder Woman did. The person approaching her then said "no...it's for Wonder Woman's mom." Charlize says it was the defining moment when she "crossed over" and that she wasn't fully aware of it beforehand. For those who don't want to watch the clip, Charlize said that it was "a great example of how hollywood slaps you in the face when you start aging," but she also told the story humorously and was able to laugh about it.
According to google, Charlize Theron is 43 and the actress who played Wonder Woman named Gal Gadot is 34, meaning Charlize would be playing mother to someone only nine years younger than her.
