MARINA has been revealed as one of four cover stars* of Gay Times' "Sounds Like Queer Spirit" issue. In a new interview accompanying photos by Laura Allard-Fleischl, the singer-songwriter opens up about why she considered leaving music behind completely, saying that it "stopped feeling fun" after the release of her third album FROOT in 2015, and touches on the toxicity of stan Twitter and "the close affinity between gay men and female artists."
“When a woman uses her voice in public or speaks up, men send abuse to that female figure," @MarinaDiamandis says. "What matters is you’re saying something, and they basically want to silence you.”https://t.co/0HGJPHh4Wc pic.twitter.com/jqWLB2NYoQ— GAY TIMES (@gaytimesmag) April 29, 2019

MARINA also began the first leg of her Love + Fear Tour last night in Newcastle. The set list for the show, which features a shifting set and accompaniment by four "multi-talented performers," is split into two halves like the album it is supporting.
