Amma Asante's impact!
Ancestry.com - The people who want your DNA for no nefarious reasons what-so-ever - released this commercial; A white man insists that a black woman run away with him "up north, where we can be together." The lady doesnt get more than one word out before he asks "Will you leave with me?"
Then the fade to black and WITHOUT YOU, THE STORY STOPS HERE.
While nothing insinuates that Abigail is a slave, people think it's tone-deaf, and trying to be (yet another group) of people profiting off of the horror that was the American Civil War.
ooooh my god LMAOOO who approved this ancestry commercial??? pic.twitter.com/Isy0k4HTMA— manny (@mannyfidel) April 18, 2019
