PART ONE

16 years ago, artists like Lumidee, t.A.T.u, and Stacie Orrico were topping the charts. Many of the artists who created their major 2003 hits were never able to replicate the success. However, their songs remain playable and always take us back in time. Let's take ANOTHER look at some of the best one hit wonders of 2003, pt. 2!

JC CHASEZ - BLOWIN’ ME UP (WITH HER LOVE)

"Blowin' Me Up (With Her Love)" was the debut single from JC Chasez as he branched out of *NSYNC and tried a solo career of his own. The song was released as a single from the soundtrack to the film Drumline. The song peaked at no. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100 and had a bit of success in the UK. His solo music career didn’t go much further than his debut album.

DARKNESS - I BELIEVE IN A THING CALLED LOVE

When released as a single in September 2003, Darkness’ hit single "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" peaked at no. 2 on the UK Singles Chart, just behind The Black Eyed Peas' "Where Is The Love?" The song was heavily featured on MTV but never managed to chart on the US Hot 100 despite charting on Billboard’s Alternative and Pop charts.

THE ATARIS - THE BOYS OF SUMMER

Rock band The Ataris covered "The Boys of Summer" for their album So Long, Astoria. The song became their second single when a radio station began to play it. The single eventually peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Modern Rock Chart and No. 20 on the Billboard Hot 100. It remains their most successful single to date.

JOE BUDDEN - PUMP IT UP

Joe Budden released "Pump It Up" in the spring of 2003 as lead single from his self-titled debut. It was featured in 2 Fast 2 Furious, You Got Served, as well as Madden NFL 2004. Due to its exposure the song peaked at no. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 and no. 13 in the United Kingdom. Joe now runs a podcast and stars in VH1’s Love & Hip Hop.

LILLIX - IT’S ABOUT TIME

Canadian girl group Lillix made some waves in the US in 2003 with their mini hit "Its About Time." The song wasn’t a huge success for the group but was feature on many music channels. Apparently they’re still doing well in Japan?

FANNYPACK - CAMELTOE

There isn’t a whole lot of chart info on FannyPack’s "Cameltoe" but the song was scandalous and shook students around the world with its scandalous lyrics and catchy production. You gotta fix yourself girl....

CASSIDY - HOTEL

Cassidy released "Hotel" in the fall of 2003 as his debut single. The song, produced by Swizz Beatz, features pedophile R.Kelly and reached no. 4 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

FEFE DOBSON - TAKE ME AWAY

So I didn’t want to add FeFe to this list and do ha like this but this is her one true hit, especially in the US and I needed to fill the space so here we are. The song was Fefe’s first international release and no. 87 on the Billboard Hot 100.

YOUNGBLOODZ - DAMN!

Rap duo YoungBloodZ released "Damn!" as the second single from their second studio album In the summer of 2003. It features Lil Jon and peaked at no. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100.

LASGO - SOMETHING

"Something" is the debut single by Belgian trance music group Lasgo. It was released in May 2001 but picked up worldwide attention in 2003 when it peaked at no. 4 in the UK Singles Chart. The song also peaked at no. 19 in Australia. In the United States, the song peaked at no. 35 on the Hot 100.
