BREAKING - believe it or not, there is more going on in the world than the #CohenHearing ... #Bones EP & @emilydeschanel & @David_Boreanaz get massive $179M award in profits participation battle with @21CF but it ain't over by any stretch https://t.co/FTxtziQxEP— Dominic Patten (@DeadlineDominic) February 27, 2019
Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz and EP Barry Josephson have been issued a hefty award of almost $179 million in the case.
The lawsuit, launched in 2015 while “Bones” was still in production.
It alleged that Fox had been cheating them out of back-end revenue from the show since it ended its 12-season run in 2017.
Fox is not contesting the non-punitive damages of $50,240,048 handed out to the Bones EPs.
The arbitration process was apparently disastrous for Fox, which was hit with $128 million in punitive damages.
Fox has already filed a motion to appeal the ruling.
