NYT Criticizes the Vanity Fair Oscars Party, Gets Uninvited

  • The New York Times published an article yesterday about the annual Vanity Fair Oscars party, suggesting that the Oscars afterparty that was once the hottest ticket in town is now past its prime.

  • The Times laid out a number of possible reasons for this, among them a heavy corporate presence, bloated guest lists, VF editor Graydon Carter's retirement, an abundance of photographs, more exclusive parties held by others (like Madonna and Beyoncé), and the lack of an appropriately sized venue with the right atmosphere.

  • The Times tweeted today that they've been dis-invited from covering this year's afterparty.

Is Vanity Fair being petty? What afterparty do you want to crash?
