Cate Blanchett’s ‘Where’d You Go, Bernadette’ Moved Back to August https://t.co/rprI7QfEh9— Variety (@Variety) January 18, 2019
I can't fit the word ~~allegedly~~ in the title because it's already too damn long, but apparently Cate Blanchett's upcoming movie 'Where’d You Go, Bernadette' has been pushed to an August 9 release from its original March 22 opening.
Why, you ask? Meghan Ellison in her infinite wisdom and decades of studio work and her team at Annapurna Pictures gave this reason:
August has served well as a launching pad for release of female-skewing films such as “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Florence Foster Jenkins” and “Julie and Julia.”
Also it's apparently a good change of pace from all the summer blockbusters and action movies??? It should be noted it'll now be going up against Disney's 'Artemis Fowl' adaptation so... dunno where the logic is there.
Y'all ready to see this uber quirkfest from Richard Linklater which will only be in very select theaters in late summer anyway?
