ONTD ORIGINAL: ROMCOMS WORTH WATCHING PART 2

Juliet, Naked
I honestly loved this movie, it had heart, it was funny, Chris O’Dowd really captured the essence of obsessive fandom, and Ethan Hawke and Rose Byrne had great chemistry. It is a movie based on the book of the same name by Nick Hornby (who wrote About A Boy) . It is about a woman, Annie (Rose Byrne) who's trapped in a relationship with Duncan (Chris O’Dowd) who’s obsessed with a once famous singer, Tucker (Ethan Hawke). Duncan runs a website dedicated to Tucker where he discusses his life's work with other middle aged men. One day, Duncan receives a cd with old demos by Tucker but Annie listens to it first which angers Duncan and he throws a fit. Annie then leaves a negative review of the album on Duncan's website which attracts Tucker's attention and he contacts her and that leads to a life-changing encounter. I wish it ended like the book but I didn’t mind the movie ending either. I highly recommend watching this movie. It also awakened a crush on Ethan Hawke that I didn’t know was possible, but….lol

Note: I must say thank you to the user that suggested this movie and book to me (I would’ve gone back and replied to the comment where they suggested it but I accidentally deleted everything in my inbox so I must say thank you publicly, I hope you read this and say hi in the comments, I’d love to discuss with you). And I also wanna thank all the users that gave me book recommendations, I wrote them all down and will be reading them <3.

13 Going on 30

I thought this was a really cute movie, starring Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, in which Jennifer portrays a girl who wishes to be an adult because she can't find a boyfriend and her wish comes true so she has to adjust to her new life.

Silver Linings Playbook

This wasn't a typical romcom since it dealt with mental health and serious issues, but Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence (the on-screen power couple) made this one of my favorite romantic movies of all time. Their chemistry was so great, and the script was clever, funny and sincere which made this a great watch.

Enchanted

Amy Adams is an actual princess so it's no wonder why she was so perfect in the role of Giselle, a princess who was forced out of her animated universe into the real world.

Confessions of a Shopaholic

Starring Amy Adams' long lost twin, Isla Fisher as a lovable shopaholic drowning in debt, that starts working as an advice columnist for a financial magazine run by a very hot boss which leads to an overnight success that threathens to expose her secrets.
Rotten tomatoes has given very poor rating to all of these movies lmao so don't expect something groundbreaking, but it's fun and relaxing to watch.

The Big Sick

This movie was written by Kumail Nanjiani and his wife and it's about the first year of their relationship. It's witty and different and I highly recommend it. Also it stars Ray Romano who is fucking hilarious.

Kate & Leopold

This is the first movie I watched with Hugh Jackman as the main star and it made me fall in love with him. He stars opposite Meg Ryan, one of the romcom queens. Hugh plays a Duke of Albany (lol), a charming bachelor from 1800s, and Meg plays a modern day executive. Leopold (Hugh Jackman) somehow ends up in a modern world and falls for Kate (Meg Ryan) etc, you know how it goes...

Crazy Rich Asians

Rachel is a professor of game theory who's invited by her boyfriend Nick, to attend his best friend's wedding in Singapore. There she learns Nick is really wealthy and his family has certain expectations when it comes to Nick's girlfriend that Rachel doesn't meet.

My Big Fat Greek Wedding

It's about a Greek woman, trying to get her giant family to accept her non-Greek boyfriend played by John Corbett (<3). It's chaotic but funny and full of heart.

Kissing Jessica Stein

Jessica (the annoying ex-wife of Charles from Younger lmao who isn't annoying in this movie) stumbles upon a personal ad in the 'women seeking women' section, she answers it and meets Helen, a funny hipster, who she clicks instantly with.

Just My Luck

Starring Lindsay Lohan and Chris Pine. It's about a woman who has all the luck in the world and a loser who she kisses at a costume party which triggers some sort of a curse and he gets all of her luck. Do not expect a masterpiece, it's just some harmless fun and Chris Pine looks FINE in the movie.

The Duff
Bianca (Mae Whitman) finds out her classmates think she's the designated ugly fat friend to her best friends so she decides to reinvent herself with the help of a cute jock, Wesley (Robbie Amell). I absolutely adore this movie, and Robbie looks like a snack in it.

Just Friends
Chubby teen Chris (Ryan Reynolds) loved his best friend, Jamie (Amy Smart) all throughout high school and one day he confessed his feelings but she friendzoned him. 10 years later, he's hot and skinny and dating a crazy pop star (Anna Faris) but he's still pining for Jamie so he returns to his hometown to try to win her love.

She's The Man
Viola (Amanda Bynes) likes to play football and she poses as her twin brother at his college so she could play football while he's in London, but she falls for his roommate (Channing Tatum) which causes complications. This movie is always so fun to watch, Amanda always picked fun movies to star in.

Wild Child
A spoiled brat (Emma Roberts) is shipped off to an English boarding school where she has to follow the rules, there she ends up making friends and falling for a cute guy (Alex Pettyfer) who she falls for
