Iceland's Christmas 2018 TV ad banned from TV for being too "political"

The advert, which was a result of a deal between Greenpeace and the supermarket, warns viewers of the destruction of the orangutans' rainforest habitat at the hands of palm oil harvesters.

The voice-over was done by British actress and celebrity Emma Thompson.

Iceland is reported to be the first major UK supermarket to pledge to remove palm oil from its own branded food.

The advert was deemed to have breached political advertising rules.
