It didn’t need to take 14 years for a remake

This movie was too long, but so was the first one when you go back and watch it.

I still wish they had done a time jump because it felt weird to have waited 14 years just to have the film pick up right after the first one.

Oh and I forgot the massive continuity error in the film. It's night time when the kids are attacked in the house, get in the car, and get to the boat, but daytime when they rescue the parents and save the day. How long did it take them to reach the boat?

Yeah that part bothered me too, especially since the car was super powered and drove extremely fast?? They should have been there in minutes

Finally watched it this past Sunday with my bf and agree, it was ok. It didn’t seem necessary to make or like they had a particular story they wanted to tell in the sequel, only that they wanted to make a sequel so thought up a story (which I know is often what happens). The animation and art design was beautiful though.

Watching them back to back, I actually liked the second more than the first oop. Even thought it was super blunt in some parts, I liked Helen having more to do that Bob. Though I agree it didn’t need to take as long as it did. What I do not appreciate is them cutting out the scenes with Honey for some bullshit reason.

I loved everything about this movie. It was everything I wanted and more. I saw it in theaters four times.

I watched two days ago and was underwhelmed. The plot was pm the same. And I dunno, I was ok with a direct continuation but aging the kids up slightly would have been more interesting?

As soon as the sister (Catharine Keener’s character) was introduced, I was a little taken aback that they were so obviously rehashing the plot line of ‘sponsor paying Incredibles is actually the villain.” There are so many avenues they could’ve taken for a superhero story and they chose the exact same plot as the first? And in the movie timeline, this is happening weeks, if not days, after Bob got mixed up in bad guys pretending to be good guys and now Helen is falling for the exact same schtick?

I still need to see this. Got it on my drive. The first one was great tho.

I liked it, I thought the Elastic Girl chase scene was great.

I loved this movie. Not as much as #1 but my expectations were low and it worked.

I enjoyed it but the short film before it, Bao was SO amazing.

Also I still prefer the original. That scene when the plane is going down is so good.

She ate her baby! I saw this with an actual kid and I think that was slightly traumatizing.

I really enjoyed the film, I thought it was a great film just in general. I usually don't like Superhero movies because they're boring/the same thing but this one had lots of variety. The one problem was the villain reveal because they spoiled it in the teasers for the movie, and just overall it was a quite obvious ~twist villain. The reveal should've been earlier in the film or with much stronger motivation.

edit: Oh actually I guess this video does a good job framing how the idea is unoriginal, but just watching the movie I didn't get that sense.

I dunno, my interest in the Incredibles franchise kind of cooled when I realized that Brad Bird in an objectivist lunatic and inserts that philosophy into everything he writes.

14 years? for THAT? no. fuck off. back to the drawing board.

on first watch, it was meh. But the second time it was a lot of cute and entertaining fun. I'm glad they made this sequel.

It wasn't great. The scene w/ Jack-Jack and the raccoon was the best part of the movie.

it was okay. i liked it but i didn’t think it was special. the villain was obvious from the first moment they were on screen so that was disappointing. it seems like pixar is getting lazy these days.

My nephew really thought it took them 14 years bc they were creating a cinematic, emotional and comic book centric masterpiece lololol he left the theater annoyed.

it was ok, way too long though, and they didn't really do much with the other superheroes introduced so like why introduce them at all. i saw it in a theater full of kids and i can't believe they weren't acting up more out of boredom because i was bored lol.

the sister's character design with the sleepy eyes really annoyed me, and the dialogue/interaction between her and elastigirl was kinda weird for a kid's movie and seemed like it was almost trying to appeal to grown male viewers at times? and then after i saw it i read that review from the weirdo horny writer talking about how sexy it was ew.
