#PharrellWilliams sent a cease-and-desist letter to #DonaldTrump after the president played "Happy" at a political event Saturday, just hours after nearly a dozen people were gunned down in a Pittsburgh synagogue. https://t.co/rb9breJDIR— USA TODAY (@USATODAY) October 30, 2018
45 played Pharrell Williams' song "Happy" at a Midwest rally hours after the Tree of Life congregation on saturday. Williams’ lawyer Howard E King sent the letter after 45 used Happy during his Saturday rally in Murphysboro, Illinois. King stated in the letter: “there was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose.” Skateboard P prohibited use of his music for future use for 45. Skateboard P joins a long list of musicians who don't want their music affiliated with 45.
