How HBO is changing sex scenes forever

Alicia Rodis, the network’s first-ever “intimacy coordinator” was reciently hired to overseen the sex scenes on The Duce.

Executives found Rodis through Intimacy Directors International that aims to set the standards and practices surrounding the execution of sex scenes on stage and on film.

An "intimacy director" is like mediator among actors, directors, producers and crew. If new or tweaked sex scenes are added, they are often the one to tell an actor, clarifing what their personal boundaries are. Then they advocate for the actors in discussions with the production team.

Rodis is already overseeing the sets of other HBO shows & is training other intimacy coordinators to work on upcoming series for the network.
