Top 10 "...Baby One More Time" Performances for its 20th anniversary (ONTD Original)

On a glorious day like today twenty years ago, the legendary Ms. Britney Spears released her debut single "...Baby One More Time", and no gay's life was ever the same again.

October 23rd, 1998 served as the singer's first ever release and it went on to reach number one in every country it charted, the single has also become one of the best-selling singles of all time, accumulating over 9 million copies sold, as well as having also earned Britney her first ever nomination for a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
The song is one of Britney's most iconic singles in her vast repertoire, which has made it one of her most live performed along her career, having been included in all of her tours. To commemorate such an important milestone, here is a look at a self-made top 10 ranking of the best live performances of the hit.

10. Singapore Jazz Festival - 1998

The only reason why I even included this performance is not because of how great it is, but because of how important it is for her career. This marks Britney's first ever live official performance of the song, the date was May 1998, quite a lot before her single was even released. Also, vocals.

9. MTV Video Music Awards - 1999

You could argue this should be higher, but I call the shots (Circus.mp3). Considering how iconic the rest of her VMA performances are, this can only be included because it's her first and an NSYNC collab at the peak of 90's teen pop.

8. Grammys - 2000

Again, not her best particularly but the Grammys have done her so wrong that this is still her only live performance there. Ungrateful.

7. ...Baby One More Time Tour - 2000

Britney at her transition towards her second era, "Oops... I Did It Again" cemented her status and started showing signes of vast improvement.

6. The Circus Starring Britney Spears Tour - 2009

Britney's comeback had one strong asset, her hits catalogue. This tour marked her return after what seemed to be the end of her career, so it's even more special to see her performing her first big hit.

5. Britney: Piece of Me - 2013-2018

This performance evolved through the residency variations and although it won't be remembered as iconic, it's a cute little performance of a staple hit in a very succesful residency and tour. Haters will stay pressed.

4. The Onyx Hotel Tour - 2004

Ok this wasn't live, but it SEEMS live and it marks quite a departure from her previous bubblegum renditions of the classic. This throwback style revives the song and the Onyx Hotel tour remains cute.

3. Billboard Music Awards - 1999

THERE IS A BACKFLIP!

2. Oops! I Did It Again World Tour - 2000

LIVE VOCALS!

1. Dream Within A Dream World Tour - 2002

The rain, the outfit, the moment in her career, the first revamp of the song, the back image, the stage, etc!
