LIFE ITSELF is one of the most transparently manipulative movies I’ve ever seen. why do some writers think that the only way to make a story good is to do everything they can to ruin their characters’ perfectly happy lives just for the feels #TIFF18— Emma Stefansky (@stefabsky) September 9, 2018
I mention the 'creator of This is Us' for a reason, because all the reviews are calling the upcoming drama 'Life Itself' a manipulative piece of shit.
Those who watch 'This is Us' can understand the similarities, but this movie is being TRASHED. It premiered yesterday at TIFF as well. I cackled especially at Louis Peitzman's review under the cut. The all-star cast isn't going to help this pile of drivel (no awards in the future for this one).

There was a point during Life Itself that I felt my soul leave my body, and I was jealous of it for being able to exit the theater. I am truly baffled by every choice in that movie. It is a melodrama fever dream. #TIFF18— Louis Peitzman (@LouisPeitzman) September 9, 2018
LIFE ITSELF should be booked by entrepreneurial theaters looking to mix-up their “let’s laugh at this” audiences that are sick of THE ROOM. It is atrocious. And you have to see it. https://t.co/k91RxT7fFl— Jordan Hoffman’s Content (@jhoffman) September 9, 2018

What it actually delivers is a big sloppy pile of WTF. https://t.co/lkJ5JWmzYH— Mashable (@mashable) September 9, 2018
Beale Street premieres shortly, so hopefully excellent reviews to come from that!
