--Sorry to Bother You is yet another film where the artistic, quirky artist is a lighter skinned black woman.
--The image of the free-spirited black woman is usually always lighter skinned with curly hair or long flowing braids. In comparison, dark-skinned women are often hypersexualized or voiceless.
--Pointing out colorism isn't saying that these women aren't black, it is pointing out that the colorist ideal has been absorbed self-consciously.
