The awards season is sloowwwwwlllly creeping near, and the studios are already rescheduling their movies for prominent spots for Oscars recognition.
-- Joel Edgerton's upcoming movie "Boy Erased," about a gay teen who's being forced into conversion therapy, has been pushed to a November 2 release (from September 28) for better awards season placement. Oscar pushes will be made for star Lucas Hedges (as lead) and Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman (in supporting).
-- Mimi Leder's RBG biopic "On the Basis of Sex" has been pushed all the way up to Christmas day (limited release) for a much closer awards push for star Felicity Jones (previous release date was November 9). Movie also stars Armie Hammer (as RBG's husband), Justin Theroux, Kathy Bates, and Sam Waterston.
