Because the true issue with the Grammys is that they don't have enough space to nominate more people, the Recording Academy announced that starting from now, the top four categories would be expanded, adding three more spots to allow "flexibility" for the voters.
Recording Academy president and CEO Neil Portnow announced the changes today. The other 80 categories remain the same. Other minor changes were made to categories like best compilation soundtrack album and best historical album.
