– Hillary Clinton's spokesman confirmed to The New York Times that she will be endorsing Andrew Cuomo in the upcoming race for New York governor. Cuomo worked for Bill Clinton's administration during the 90's and has been governor for eight years, and also no one likes him.
– Some people are shocked (where? where are they?) that Clinton would support Cuomo over Nixon, while others cite that Cuomo's more centrist policies are closer to hers than Nixon's progressive ones, and that NY is her own turf, causing her to make a rare endorsement in time for midterms. Others speculate Bill has been even more invisible the last several months because of his comeuppance in the era of #MeToo.
– Cynthia Nixon recently received an endorsement from Bernie Sanders-inspired Our Revolution group, citing the Sanders campaign as one of her inspirations for entering the race for Governor. While this might signal a relitigation of 2016 again, it begs the larger question that caused it in the first place: whether or not the Democratic Party as a whole is going to grow and support candidates like Cynthia, or make them fight uphill every step of the way against ones like Cuomo. (so far it's been the latter)
Hillary Clinton will endorse Gov. Andrew Cuomo in New York over Cynthia Nixon. But in other races, the Clintons are seen as a liability. https://t.co/l8q331JSAC— The New York Times (@nytimes) May 21, 2018

Democrat Cynthia Nixon has the chance to become New York's first female Governor, and its first openly LGBT Governor. That's exciting! But Hillary Clinton just endorsed her white, straight, male, corruption-tainted opponent. https://t.co/j9cGc8VYDj— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) May 21, 2018
Hillary Clinton backing Andrew Cuomo over Cynthia Nixon means that Nixon will win because that’s objectively the funniest outcome and thus the correct one.— chris person (@Papapishu) May 21, 2018

In MA, Congressional Black Caucus backs Capuano over black challenger.
The thread here is some Dems are still, even after spending the last year and a half talking about increasing party diversity, prioritizing loyalty over everything else https://t.co/nWqJOVTYRt

This story uncovers what New Yorkers have said all along: big landlords are jacking up rents, pushing people out of their homes, and donating massive amounts of money to politicians who won't lift a finger to help renters.— Cynthia Nixon (@CynthiaNixon) May 21, 2018
We need #RentJusticeForAll. https://t.co/ZGW80EkFdh
Yep. We’ve lost 75k rent-regulated apartments under @NYGovCuomo.— Jonathan Westin 🍊 (@jwestin2) May 20, 2018
And @CynthiaNixon is proposing the strongest rent control program in the country.
No issue could further differentiate the two.
One takes millions from landlords. The other does not. https://t.co/O1bZmzQGTE
In 2016, like so many others, I was inspired by @BernieSanders's revolutionary, people-powered campaign. Now with @OurRevolution's endorsement, I'm bringing the political revolution to New York with my campaign for bold, progressive change! https://t.co/cENNXeXTI2— Cynthia Nixon (@CynthiaNixon) May 14, 2018
ONTD, what's going on with local Democratic and progressive candidates where you live? Midterms post.
