Sweet Valley High's Francine Pascal turns 80; a look at what she's created

-A total of 181 Sweet Valley books were published
-Perhaps the ghostwriters got tired after the first few books, because they took a turn with "temporary paralysis, cult abductions, manslaughter, doppelgangers, werewolves, vampires, hidden treasure, terrorism, and face-stealing"
-Regina Morrow's tragic death of doing cocaine once and OD-ing seems to have shaken pre-teen fans (so says the source who did an informal poll)
-Who knew all of this was possible coming from a idealistic California town?
-No mention of the Sweet Valley Confidential books or the Diablo Cody film that may or may not ever be made
