Hypocritical tax dodger Bono moans, "“I mean, come on, would people prefer I die broke? [...] “I’ve been writing about my own hypocrisy for 20 years. But the hypocrisy of the human heart is so much more interesting than a rock’n’roll band trying to take its financial affairs seriously.”
This comes after revelations that:
- he used a Malta-based company to buy a share in a shopping centre in Lithuania. This caused him to be named in the Paradise Papers.
- U2 decided to base a firm in the Netherlands for $$$$ reasons. Bono defended this by saying it was his accountants “trying to be sensible about the way we’re taxed”.
- Critics are now calling him the "Samaritan who avoids the taxman".
ONTD, would you prefer if Bono died broke?
