She posted on her IG a semi-censored photo of herself nursing their baby girl Mia while fully topless, prompting several people to leave criticizing comments.

"I’m all for breastfeeding and having a choice how to feed your baby but WHY do people feel the need to post pictures of themselves doing it?! Especially the new pic of Robin Thicke’s gf! She’s got hair done, makeup on, both boobs out. So strange. What’s the need?? #opinions.”

Geary replied :
"Maybe the next time you want to criticize me for posting a picture of myself breastfeeding you should really take a look at the pictures you've had taken. Not that taking nudes are wrong! The naked body is a beautiful thing! But don't be a hypocrite mama."

I understand taking a pic while breastfeeding, what I don't understand is the completely topless part of it. Normally, the baby's head covers the breast they are feeding from.

the other day i was at a brewery and a woman was breast feeding her child with a beer in her other hand. i didn't know how i should feel about that.

I pretty sure it takes a while for the beer to get to the breast milk. Unless she had been drinking for a while it was probably fine.

I’ve been told that you have to get very, VERY drunk for it to show up significantly in breast milk but I’ve also seen my SIL pump and dump after having a single beer while out without her kid so idk the rules man

I was told at my midwives that the best time to have a beer is while the baby is feeding, because it won't get to the milk before they're finished, and that's the longest span of time before you feed them again.

If it was a stout, it might be because those help promote to production of breast milk.

Yeah, best time to have a beer is when the baby is feeding. Takes a bit for the alcohol to make it into your bloodstream, and the baby would be done by then. And depending on the beer, some kinds can actually help the process.

And being a casual beer/wine drinker myself who's breastfeed two kids (and researched the hell out of how to safely have a drink with a breastfeeding newborn in your life), one beer is honestly negligible. She'd be doing as much damage as if she was drinking a cup of coffee, but there's way less stigma there.

Yep. I didn't drink much while breastfeeding my kids, but when I did I'd usually feed them and then have a glass of wine immediately afterwards. If I was at home I'd start the glass during the feed.
