Kodak Black could be out of jail by October https://t.co/3ZsWZJVDgN— Pitchfork (@pitchfork) April 17, 2018
Kodak Black was arrested in January after an Instagram live broadcast showed his young son in his home near a gun and marijuana.
He was facing several felony charges including child neglect.
His lawyers argued that the court had no way of knowing the drugs and guns in the video were real.
The felony charges were dropped and he agreed to plead guilty to the probation violation of driving with a suspended license and associating with people engaged in criminal activity. He was sentenced to 364 days in jail and with time served, he'll be out in September. After he's released, he'll be off probation.
He still awaits trial in a separate case for allegedly raping a teenage girl in South Carolina. If convicted, he could face up to 30 years in prison.
Just completely resolved @KodakBlack1k case. The State and Judge were professional and fair. I am happy not just for a client, but for a friend. There are great things instore for him, and he is glad to have this behind him. @breakfastclubam @XXL @AP @BBMAs— Bradford Cohen (@bradfordcohen) April 17, 2018
