'The Seagull' Trailer

  • A trailer for The Seagull, a new film adaptation of the play by Anton Chekov starring period piece all-star Saoirse Ronan, dropped today.

  • Plot description via the trailer link: THE SEAGULL is the heartbreaking and funny story of friends and lovers, all of whom are in love with the wrong person. The movie is timely in its depiction of the tragic consequences of narcissism, particularly on young dreams and romantic love.

  • The only comment so far on the trailer asks "Is this a fake movie?"

  • It's set for release on May 11th, and also stars Elisabeth Moss, Annette Bening, Corey Stoll and Michael Zegen.

  • It was adapted by Stephen Karam, directed by Michael Mayer, and is being released by Sony Picture Classics.

Didn't even know this was a thing. When did they film this? How many period pieces does Saoirse need to do to feel whole? JK, she should be in every single one.
