Mo'Nique shared video and emails calling out Packer for alleged issues on the set of 2016's Almost Christmas.
Sidney Hicks (Mo'Nique's husband and manager) accused Packer of intimidating the actress while on set and attempting to ruin her character.
Owen took it upon himself to defend Packer on Intagram:
"Man, Mo’Nique don’t stop. She blames everybody. It’s Oprah, it’s Tyler, it’s Lee Daniels, it’s Netflix. Now it’s Will Packer. She went too far when she started blaming Will Packer on shit. That’s my friend, that’s my homeboy, Will Packer’s done more for Black actors and actresses than just about anybody in the last 10 years. I mean, he is basically showing Hollywood that Black movies have a mainstream market. He put you in a movie — ‘Almost Christmas’ — when nobody was putting you in movies and he stuck his neck out and he went to bat for you and now you’re throwing him under the bus. I’m not gonna sit back and let you slander my friend’s name like that. Will Packer is a good, good person. … Sometimes you gotta take accountability for yourself: it’s you! It’s you! What can you do to change things? Stop blaming everybody for your shit, man. C’mon, Mo’Nique. Shit getting old.”
Gary I hope you fight as hard for your African American wife and daughter for the inequalities that they face. For all the black people you say he's help. WHY ARE YOU SPEAKING FOR THEM. WE DON'T NEED A SPOKESPERSON. With all you said I still don't have nothing but love for u.— Mo'Nique Worldwide (@moworldwide) February 6, 2018
