- A statement was read by Savannah Guthrie from NBC News Chairman Andy Lack in which the network received a complaint about “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.”
- They have decided to terminate the longtime “Today” show host’s employment. The memo mentions that that it's the first complaint lodged against Lauer during his tenure at NBC. Yet, “we were also presented with reason to believe this my not have been an isolated” incident.
- The firing of Lauer is just a week CBS News fired Charlie Rose after the Washington Post released a report that chronicled years of sexual conduct by Rose.
- Variety has been working on an investigation on Lauer for two months. There is also an ongoing investigation by the New York Times. NBC News management knew about both.
