Broadway Post: Lee Pace joins "Angels in America"; Springsteen extends show; "Prince of Egypt" opens

- The stage adaptation of the DreamWorks animated film The Prince of Egypt made its world premiere at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley
- Stephen Schwartz, who composed for the original film, added new songs for the score. His son Scott Schwartz is directing, after previously butchering directing The Hunchback of Notre Dame, another of Schwartz's film-to-stage adaptations
- The Prince of Egypt will have another tryout in Denmark next year before a potential Broadway transfer
- The reviews are... mixed. You can watch the trailer below:

- Lee Pace is joining Andrew Garfield and Nathan Lane in the Broadway transfer of Angels in America
- He will be taking over the role of Joe Pitt, previously played by Russell Tovey in the London production
- Angels in America opens for an 18-week run at the Neil Simon Theatre on February 23

- Bruce Springsteen's sold-out show Springsteen on Broadway was set to close on February 3, but it's now extending its run at the Walter Kerr Theatre into the spring (dates to come)
- The show was already extended by 10 weeks after the initial run sold out in just one day
- The show made $2.33 million in just the first week of sales and has been getting universal acclaim

ONTD, how do you feel about this low budget attempt?
