Broadway Roundup: "Great Comet" and "Bandstand" announce closing, Springsteen debuts new show

- "Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812" (the best most nominated show of this season) announced that it will close on September 3. Hamilton alum Oak Onaodowan will play the role of Pierre until August 13, followed by standby Scott Stangland and creator/composer Dave Malloy

- Followup to this post: the show had terrible sales following the departure of stars Josh Groban and Ingrid Michaelson (who will play the role of Sonya until August 13). Homeland star Mandy Patinkin, who was set to replace Onaodowan, dropped out after public backlash, leaving the show with no lead

- The show is still planning a national tour

- "Bandstand," which opened on April 26, will close on September 17. It won the Tony Award for best choreography

- Bruce Springsteen announced his Broadway debut in a new show, "The Boss"

- “My show is just me, the guitar, the piano and the words and music. Some of the show is spoken, some of it is sung. It loosely follows the arc of my life and my work. All of it together is in pursuit of my constant goal to provide an entertaining evening and to communicate something of value.”

- It will run at the Walter Kerr Theatre from October 3 to November 26

Well, comrades, we've had our fun... Everyone raise a glass, whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
