Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui regrammed an image from Justin Tranter's instagram challenging male song writers to work with female songwriters when writing songs for women to perform, arguing that this would make their content more "relatable and real" as well as giving female songwriters more opportunities.
Her band have previously released songs with creepily sexualised lyrics even before they were all 18-years-old, including: "I like it a little rough", "The boys keep watching, wanna leave with something", and "If you come close, then I won't say no." More examples here.
Former band member and ONTD fave Camila Cabello has previously spoke out about feeling uncomfortable with being sexualised during her time in the band.
Do you think pop music would be better if songs about female sexuality weren't all written by middle aged men, ONTD?
