In a new interview, Karen Kwak, the executive producer behind Britney Spears' latest album "Glory," said that the key to reinventing Britney Spears for 2016 was to not reinvent her at all.
Karen realizes that "Britney Jean" and "Pretty Girls" were two horrible missteps in Britney's career that ended up putting her in the same league as Madonna, where she was seen latching on to younger, hipper new artists for relevance.
Karen says that in order to help regain the public's interest, she took references from the Britney Spears she knew on the outside of having worked with her.
Karen says that during the creation of the album, she didn't talk about the past with Britney. For this album, Karen says that Britney Spears seemed present and like she was actually having fun.
