Two famous vocalists who hate each other were both being considered for a gig as big as the Super Bowl

Singer 1 couldn't "rise" to the occasion and produce a song that would fit (it was worse than rise? oop)

Singer 1 has "bad blood" with Singer 2 who secured the gig

I think in the US, that's a pretty fair statement. Obviously not anywhere else.

And so is the World Cup, but US Americans still have no idea of what Waka Waka is beyond their zumba class. I don't think any other sporting event compares to the Super Bowl in this country.

LMFAO, the first thing I thought of was Fozzy Bear which just proves your point. It's even more sad because I was in another country during the World Cup so that became my summer song, and it was so weird coming back to the US where it wasn't as big.

IMO in the US the Super Bowl is bigger, but obviously the Olympics eclipse the SB on the global scale

doubt it. i don't think either of them would agree to enter any sort of ~competition of any sort, either you offer a contract or no. also, i think taylor could've easily written something far better and catchier than 'rise'. i think katy unfortunately lost her pop song writing mojo years ago.
