ONTD ORIGINAL - Taylor Swift : A History Of Playing Victim

Hay y'all, thanks to the good work Kimberly Kardashian-West has done in exposing a fellow white demon (what a tru #ally!) Taylor Swift, the veil has been lifted, the smoke has cleared and Terror Swift, perpetual #innocent & leader of the world's foremost cult #girlsquad has been exposed to the world as the og liar, scammer and messy bitch that lives for drama!
But wait, you say! Surely this is just a one off! Everyone makes mistakes! Taylor is a white woman and they simply do not lie when it comes to black people/black adjacent people! Her image is fine! She's still authentic and real and all that garbage y'all talk about in her tag on tumblr.

Well no kids, this is the beginning of an unmasking that has been in the making for damn near a decade. So gather round children zip it, listen and I'll take you on a journey through space and time to the history of how pop music's irl Scooby Doo villain began & how she was unmasked.

Despite the aw shucks demeanor and basic country girl aesthetics she served when she first began her reign of terror, Taylor is from Pennsylvania and the daughter of a filthy rich Merill Lynch banker who bought her a record deal at her first label.
Still, the image she portrayed through her music, awards show appearances and image in general was that of a wholesome, sweet little naif that was stunned that someone like her (a filthy rich girl) could be mingling with filthy rich celebrities. It's just unheard of!

She built her career and stacked her mantelpiece with awards based on her songs about being the underdog/shaming other women & gay people with lyrics like this

"She's cheer captain
And I'm on the bleachers"

-You Belong With Me

"State the obvious, I didn't get my perfect fantasy
I realize you love yourself more than you could ever love me
So go and tell your friends that I'm obsessive and crazy
[Album version line:] That's fine I'll tell mine that you're gay!"

-Picture To Burn

And built a narrative of herself as a lovelorn girl that just never could seem to find her Mr. Right by throwing every person she's ever dated under the bus with lyrics detailing their relationship, lyrics that actively encouraged people to speculate about her private life.

"I think they are starting to realize that if they are involved with me in any way, I will probably write a song about them," she said, adding, "You know what, if they don't want me to write bad songs about them, they shouldn't do bad things."

For example; a few years ago after she was unceremoniously dumped by whichever Jonas bro she was dating at the time over a phone call, she allegedly aired him out on the Ellen Degeneres show & at another award show, ensuring headlines remained on her

Jonas' ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift said that the pop star left her for the actress

"They've been together since we broke up. That's why we broke up — because he met her," Swift told the site at Wednesday's CMA Awards in Nashville"

But that wasn't enough for Taylor! No, our good sis in pettiness decided to slut-shame Camilla Belle too, publicly throwing her under the bus with her sexist pop ditty 'Better Than Revenge';

"She's not a saint, and she's not what you think
She's an actress, whoa
But she's better known for the things that she does on the mattress

Soon she's gonna find stealing other peoples' toys on the playground won't make you many friends
She should keep in mind
She should keep in mind
There is nothing I do better than revenge (than revenge)"

-Better Than Revenge

She exposed infamous fuckboy & racist John Mayer

"Dear John, I see it all now that you're gone
Don't you think I was too young to be messed with
The girl in the dress cried the whole way home
Dear John, I see it all now it was wrong
Don't you think 19's too young to be played by
Your dark twisted games when I loved you so

I should've known
You are an expert at sorry
And keeping lines blurry
Never impressed by me acing your tests
All the girls that you've run dry
Have tired, lifeless eyes
Cause you burned them out"

-Dear John

His response?

"I was really caught off-guard, and it really humiliated me at a time when I'd already been dressed down. I mean, how would you feel if, at the lowest you've ever been, someone kicked you even lower?"

When asked about the song's line, "Don't you think I was too young to be messed with?" Mayer says, "I don't want to go into that."
Mayer also takes issue with "Dear John" as a musician. "I will say as a songwriter that I think it's kind of cheap songwriting," he says. "I know she's the biggest thing in the world, and I'm not trying to sink anybody's ship, but I think it's abusing your talent to rub your hands together and go, 'Wait till he gets a load of this!' That's bullshit."

Now, there are no tears lost here over John Mayer, Jonas bro no. 2 and male musicians (hay Drake!) have been writing invasive, intimate songs about their exes for decades, that's not the problem. This example is just to illustrate Taylor's level of pettiness.

Sure, John, Jonas bro. 2 & Camilla may have grumbled a little about Taylor's public attacks but they endured it, she was America's Great White Hope, riding a huge wave of success and transitioning almost seamlessly from pop to country until...

After Taylor inexplicably beat Beyoncé to win 'Music Video Of The Year' award at the VMAs (who tf even remembers what Terror's video involved besides 'Swifties' & music writers???), Kanye who was off the Henney leaped on stage to defend this generation's greatest living artist & the impact of the epic 'Single Ladies' video while young Taylor stood on the stage looking confused.

When it was over & Kanye had sobered up, the shit had hit the fan. Twitter was just coming of age and he was dragged by everyone from circus artist Pink, children's entertainer Katy Perry to the POTUS, he apologized, he begged for forgiveness and even claimed to love Taylor's 'You Belong With Me' hit song (shout out to those of us that remember Kanye's blog), his tour with Lady Gaga was cancelled...things went south for Kanye very quickly.
At the time Taylor had accepted his apology and had this to say: "He was very happened on TV, so everybody saw what happened ... It's not something I feel like we need to keep talking about."

At the time, many argued that the incident and subsequent media attention turned Swift into "a bona-fide mainstream celebrity"

Sales for the albums Kanye & Taylor released after (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and Speak Now) arguably were so great yes in part because of the quality of the music (on Kanye's side anyway) but due to the intense attention the VMA's incident brought. So one might say that...Kanye helped make Taylor (even more) famous...

Taylor was riding a huge wave of monumental success but the tide was beginning to turn, people sneered openly about her wide eyed 'who me' face at every award show where she won everything that wasn't nailed down, her colorful dating life and her immature lyrics.

People accused her of 'showmances' when she dated Jake Gyllenhaal and Harry Styles of disgraced pop group One Direction for the subsequent songs (All Too Well, I Knew You Were Trouble) & swipes (Trouble features the ex boyfriend of Ashley Greene, another ex of 'Joe Jonas') she took at them after the relationships crashed & burned.
The grumblings of discontent from the public grew when she performed a very bizarre headline baiting song a year later called 'Innocent' in a white dress (for extra purity optics) about Kanye

To paraphrase 'The Simpsons' the public began to respond to Taylor Swift's antics with yawns.

Angry yawns.

Most notably when two other bitter Beckys and Mean Girls masquerading as victims aka Tina Fey and Amy Phoeler cracked a joke about Taylor on a live broadcast of the Golden Globes:

During this year's telecast, hosted by the former SNL co-stars, Fey cracked that Swift, 23, should "stay away from Michael J. Fox's son" and use "some 'me time' to learn about herself." Poehler joked: "Go for it."

Taylor did not take too kindly to it and started up phase two of her victim persona with this response in her Vanity Fair cover article two months later:

"You know, Katie Couric is one of my favorite people, because she said to me she had heard a quote that she loved that said, ‘There’s a special place in hell for women who don’t help other women."

It was actually Madeline Albright who said that but anyway!

Tina refused to apologize and THREE YEARS LATER Taylor was still mad and described herself as 'lightning rod for slut-shaming'.
No doubt that Taylor has recieved foul sexist reactions for her dating life and they are unacceptable but for her to continuously frame herself as the biggest victim of slut-shaming, in an era where Kim Kardashian, Amber Rose, Blac Chyna and Beyoncé were being called unfit parents because of their sexuality was a little...short-sighted to say the least and many other feminists took notice.

She poked fun at her image with her singles 'Shake It Off' and 'Blank Space', cultivated a glamorous bevvy of not too famous 'friends' made up of mostly white models & B-list up & coming female celebs (including at one point Kim K's sister Kendall) to join her cult #girlsquad and went on an all out media assault, suddenly deciding she was a feminist and was here to #supportwomen

And like any decent mean girl clique worth it's salt, the group needed a petty display of power to assert their dominance. And who did Taylor and her cult friends decide would be the perfect person to flex their superiority complex on?

Musical vacuum and notorious dumb dumb Katy Perry...

Katy and Terror were friends from 2009 till 2011 or something then Katy began dating John Mayer and the two women's friendship soured. Things may have really gotten worse however when three dancers that Taylor wanted to hire, decided they would rather work with their old boss Katy Perry on her tour.

"Obviously we were with Katy for two and a half years, she's like family to us. So we were, like, 'Absolutely'. We weren't really dancing in Taylor's tour anyway, so I had got a little bored and I really wanted to do a promo tour."

Taylor was not impressed.

In her 2014 Rolling Stone interview she went straight for blood...bad blood...sjfkajas sorry, let's continue

"For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not," Taylor reflected. "She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, 'Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?'"
"She did something so horrible. I was like, 'Oh, we're just straight-up enemies'. And it wasn't even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I'm surprisingly non-confrontational - you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It's awkward, and I don't like it.I know people will make it this big girl-fight thing. But I just want people to know it's not about a guy."

Katy's response was perhaps the first to call out Taylor Swift's entire persona as a false construct:

Taylor naturally responded by gathering all her hired friends or cult members and making a violent video (which some alleged was a rip off of a far superior music video and song by mega-selling kpop group 2NE1) where they attack an evil Katy Perry figure (played by BFF and dumbass Selena Gomez)

But by 2015, yes the general public was beginning to tire of Taylor but she was unstoppable, winning awards and acclaim left and right, even managing to make nice with Kanye and his wife and having sold out shows.

Then she came for Nicki Minaj...

After Nicki sent out some (arguably) general tweets criticizing racism and narrow beauty ideals in the music industry, Taylor took it upon herself to respond and went FULL fragile white lady pretending she was unaware of her privileges and that the only people that could possibly benefit from the institutional and systemic marginalization of a black woman are men:

The backlash from black twitter and the general public was........swift (I HAD TO DO IT DON'T YOU SEE!!) and Taylor tried to backtrack with a patronizing response

Everyone went IN on Taylor and even Camilla Belle popped up to show her approval

In an extremely rare show of solidarity with a black woman (that's just how bad Taylor's backlash was!), mainstream white feminists and publications stuck up for Nicki and called out Taylor. The backlash then was so immense, that Taylor was shook and issued an apology a couple of days later after deep talks with her team reflection:

Nicki graciously accepted

Taylor went back to parading her endless army of cult members friends and her relationship with then boyfriend Calvin Harris but there was a hole in the matrix, people weren't buying that Taylor was as innocent as she tried to claim.

There were momentary blips, for example, people mocking her collaboration with super corporation 'Apple' and her questionable claims that she was 'all about supporting small artists' by joining them, as well as criticism of the fact that she seemed to enjoy suing anyone and everyone including her own fans for sometimes real but mostly imagined infringing of her brand but the wave hadn't truly turned. Taylor even presented Kanye with an award and it seemed the two had forged a 'real' friendship (at least Kanye thought so...more on that later).

Then came The Life Of Pablo...

Kanye premiered his album at Madison Square Gardens to a live audience, one of the mediocre, sexist songs 'Famous' featured these new infamous lyrics:

"For all my Southside niggas that know me best
I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex
Why? I made that bitch famous"

Backlash followed and on twitter Kanye claimed that he had consulted with Taylor in an 'hour long' conversation and she had approved the lyrics. Taylor and her team strenuously denied it and when she inexplicably one a Grammy for 'Album Of The Year' she shaded Kanye by saying "I want to say to all the young women out there: There are going to be people along the way who will try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame. But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going"

Kanye was dragged by the press once again and although his wife Kim tried to defend him by claiming to GQ magazine that she had recording of the phone call, Taylor implied she was brainwashed and afraid of Kanye "Taylor does not hold anything against Kim Kardashian as she recognizes the pressure Kim must be under and that she is only repeating what she has been told by Kanye West" (so much for feminism!) blah blah blah, you know all this. Everyone laughed it off and continued to drag Kanye and now Kim. Taylor went back to her showing off her boring relationship with Clementine Harris.

Then in June of this year, the unthinkable happened! After celebrating one year together, a little while later, the perma-tan, platinum blonde couple split.

At first it seemed amicable...

A source close to the pair told outlets: "There was no drama," adding, "Things just don't work out sometimes"

Then out of nowhere, Taylor began to date a shady C-list British man with a permanent, creepy smile and failing acting career called Tom 'Eater Of Souls' Hiddleston a couple of weeks after she split from Orange Harris.

Citrus Harris, having learned from the best, decided to play victim, changing his narrative from 'i dumped taylor and she was more into it than i was' to 'omg she cheated on me! i've been played!' on social media. Then things seemed calm a day when Kumquat Harris decided to stick to promoting his new single 'This Is What You Came For' a collaboration with Rihanna.

Meanwhile Taylor and Tom continued their assault on tabloid covers and gossip blogs everywhere with a heavily publicized romantic tour around Europe (that many of the general public sneered at and mocked endlessly) culminating in a deeply embarrassing Fourth of July party where Tom did irreparable damage to his career with one ill-advised tank top and fake tattoo.

Mandarin Harris' response was to drop a song called 'Ole' (originally written by John Newman) written from the perspecive of a cheating man that features lyrics like this:

"I see online that you've begun to be a good girl and take trips with your boyfriend, being attentive / Continue to pretend." but he claims the song isn't about her.
Sure, whatever.

Taylor's response was to let everyone know that it was she who wrote Satsuma Harris' latest hit song, leading him to lash out online which tbh no one would have cared about if it wasn't for this reveal:

Katy responded by retweeting herself:

Taylor for once said nothing, no reaction and of course, why should she react? She still came out of this as the injured party. The poor innocent woman being attacked by a bitter orange looking ex and a children's entertainer.

She would have gotten away with it too if it wasn't for one meddling Kimberly Noel Kardashian-West...

Now, every website on Earth has picked through all of the 'Famous' drama and the video that Kim used to outclass and outplay one Taylor Allison Swift so I won't go into it, y'all can do your own work.
All I will focus on is the huge outpouring of backlash that the video lead to, many of the general public were sick of Taylor's perpetual victim complex and even those that (understandably) hate Kim and Kanye, supported this.

The year is 2016 and America has finally grown sick and tired of Taylor's fragile white woman shenanigans, shameless aggressive media playing, manipulation and ego. Worst of all she lied big time, used people's sympathy, was caught in a lie and refuses to own up to it. The tide has turned for the worse for Terror Swift, her biggest card, her favorite card; the forever fragile innocent child-like white victim has not only been declined but it has been cut to pieces right in front of her.

However will she come back from this?

On the plus side, save for Beyoncé, nobody comes off well in this shambles and all deserve to be dragged in some way, which is what makes Swiftmas In July (copyright me) such a truly universal uniting event.

Everyone from the very young to the very old can gather around the glow of their computer screens and laugh at all these rich people making a fool of themselves.
