Pegg and Quinto responds to George Takei

- Simon says it's unfortunate the movies haven't featured an LGBT character until now.
- Says that introducing a new character as gay wouldn't work because that character would be defined by his sexuality, which is tokenism, and that using a pre-established and beloved character makes it one of his many personal aspects, not his defining characteristic.
- Says there's nothing to suggest that Sulu in this timeline was ever straight or closeted.

- Quinto also responded in a video here (I can't seem to embed.) He basically says he understands that George has his own personal journey with the character but this is an alternate timeline. He says he hopes George can find strength in the positive response, especially from young people.
