Listen: Britney's version of 'Tilt Ya Head Back' before it was passed off to Christina Aguilera
The story goes that rapper Nelly first approached Ms. Britney Spears to collab on a song called Tilt Ya Head Back way back in 2004. Britney recorded her version but her record label (the now defunct Jive) put the kibosh on it. Allegedly the label thought the sound was too "urban" for Spears, whatever that means. Disappointed Nelly then took his song and offered it to Christina Aguilera who accepted the feature. The pair's version was a modest hit and charted at 58 on the Hot 100.
