I don't really think it's fair to call the people in Open Water stupid. It was based of a real story of a couple who got left behind on a scuba trip, and no one on the boat even figured out they left anyone behind until days later.

ngl I love those movies.

Open Water is always going to remind me of this time I went on a date with the real life version of The Continental when I was 20, and ended up having explosive diarrhea in his doorless bathroom.

I liked the original logline that described the shark as "sadistic", like it was a moustache-twirling cartoon villain doing all of this for shits and giggles.
