it's too bad she can't do a tribute without morphing into that person

she does that with her persona, too. thing is, even though Bowie was all of his personas, he was still Bowie, or David Jones, or whatever. And the best part is that later in his career, he actually got to be himself without the ultra aesthetic, although you could say he was that all along.

idk I felt that this could have been done better by someone who hasn't drowned in their own hype.

yeah i absolutely agree. i think that's the thing that separates a performer from an artist. gaga is a great performer but she loses herself and then it feels like a theater kid more than an artist.
