miley, liam, and tish out for memorial day

She's been working hard over the past few months to tone and hone her already slim figure. So it's no wonder that Miley Cyrus just can't help showing off her slender physique. Over the past few weeks, Miley has been seen wearing a variety of increasingly revealing outfits, culminating in a barely-there pair of lace shorts and a black crop top for Memorial Day yesterday.

The 19-year-old singer was accompanied by her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth and mother Tish as the trio were out shopping in Los Angeles. Miley teamed her outfit with a pair of black biker-style boots, wearing her hair tied up in a bun on top of her head to keep cool. She also accessorised the look with lashings of jewellery, including the lariat-style necklace she had worn to the Billboard Music Awards earlier this month.

And it certainly seemed as Miley was having a good time as she larked around with her beau and her mother. In between hitting the shops, Miley was also seen joking around by climbing onto the back of an elephant statue outside the shopping centre. She giggled as she pretended to ride the stone animal, before moving on to grab some lunch with Liam and Tish.

Earlier, Miley had treated her Twitter followers to a snap of herself enjoying the Bank Holiday, writing 'Such a lovely memorial day!' to accompany the shot of her reclining on a bench in the sunshine. Miley has always been close to her family, and spoke recently about how mother Tish helped her through her break-up from Nick Jonas. She told Dutch magazine Bravo: 'The first time I ever got broken-up with I thought my world was going to end, I was going to die right there and I couldn't keep breathing and go on. I was on tour and I could not get myself to go up on stage and smile and pretend like everything was OK. I would lay in bed feeling sick and so sad and my mum would hold me and tell me, "It's all good," and scratch my back until I fell asleep. And not waking up alone, waking up with my mum there, that is a time I will never forget.'

idka those bloomers, but she has the qtest laughs! and my boo shaved! happy days all around :)

source

Gherl....

When we caught up with Michelle Rodriguez at the amfAR event at Cannes this past week, she had just come from one of the festival's most controversial movies. "I loved The Paperboy!" she told us. She wasn't daunted by some of the pans for the Lee Daniels–directed movie? "I say fuck them because they don’t get it," Rodriguez replied. "He’s so good at keeping me entertained. When I don’t like the dialogue, I’m amused by the visuals. And when I don’t like the visuals, I’m amused by the dialogue. It’s always switching up senses. I’m intrigued by his ability to capture me in a theater. It’s not easy to capture me in a theater — I’m ADD like that." As for those outrageous Paperboy scenes where Nicole Kidman pees on Zac Efron and arrives at a very loud hands-free orgasm, "I fucking loved it," Rodriguez enthused. "One of my friends said, 'She’s going to get nominated for an Oscar for that.' I was like, 'Nah, man. She’s not black!' I laugh, but it’s also very sad. It makes me want to cry. But I really believe. You have to be trashy and black to get nominated. You can’t just be trashy."

Rodriguez had come to Cannes as an ambassador to the Sea Shepherds organization, "and my whole thing is that it’s really my priority to help those guys out, so it kind of bummed my Cannes experience," she confessed. "But I’ve had some really amazing parties." As well as some really amazing jewelry, we noticed. How much money was she wearing? "It’s ridiculous, but it’s not mine, so I don’t feel so bad. Probably $2 million."
Does she ever lose her loaned gems? "All the time! On my trip here when I went to go see Killing Them Softly at the Palais, the Brad Pitt movie, I ended up losing my Jimmy Choo clutch bag, and it had my phone and my favorite spiritual jewelry." Fortunately, there won't be a security guard waiting at Rodriguez's hotel room ready to take the jewelry back. "No, love, it’s a lot more laid back than that," she said. "They know I’m held responsible. I just sign a piece of paper saying that it’s such. And if anything, I take the paycheck that I get for Fast and Furious and end up using the entire check to pay it off if I lose anything, you know?"

Source

Update your calendars: Lionsgate renames 'Catching Fire'

Today in Hunger Games news: The blockbuster film’s upcoming sequel now has a slightly tweaked title. Lionsgate will officially name the second movie The Hunger Games: Catching Fire rather than just Catching Fire, the title of Suzanne Collins’ second dystopian YA novel.

The studio’s strategy echoes the one Summit Entertainment has used for its Twilight films; while the first was simply called Twilight, subsequent titles are all prefaced with The Twilight Saga and a colon. This tweaked title should also set straight moviegoers who have been anticipating a Lionsgate adaptation of Kay Nolte Smith’s 1982 mystery novel.

SOURCE

PS: Finnick should be played by Jesse Williams, Jamie Alexander as Johanna, and Shohreh Aghdashoo as Coin.

ADAM LEVINE: THE NEW KING OF POP

According to Details Magazine he is.

With his new album "Overexposed" set to hit store shelves and iTunes on June 26th, Adam Levine amped up promotions by landing the cover of the June/July 2012 issue of DETAILS magazine.

The 33-year-old Maroon 5 frontman looked quite the hunk in a white Prada t-shirt for the Norman Jean Roy shot front page while opening up about music, women and family.

Highlights from Mr Levine's interview are as follows. For more, be sure to pay a visit to DETAILS!

On himself:
"I'm fiercely independent, but I'm also terrified of being alone. I travel in a pack. I like to be surrounded, not just with my boys, but with family, too."

On music:
"A lot of people perceive our music as very safe, but it was a reaction to the conformity I was rebelling against. When I graduated high school, I moved to the east side of Hollywood and everyone was hip and cool. Everybody wanted to be the Strokes, and I wanted to sound like Michael Jackson and write pop songs. Maroon 5 may not be groundbreaking—we're not fucking Arcade Fire—but we did shit that other bands weren't really getting down with. We're counting on the cultural-feedback loop to pull a Journey on us. Journey wasn't cool. Now I can't go out one night without somebody screaming the words to that fucking song. That's what we're banking on. We'll play Coachella in 15 years."

On his extended family helping him with the ladies:
"One of my theories on why I'm so capable of understanding women is that after my parents split, my mom moved in with her brother's ex-wife—my aunt—who was also newly single. So I was living in a house with two jilted women, plus my cousin, who's more like my sister, and my brother, Michael, who we eventually find out is gay. Just the estrogen alone . . . You know when you're 14 and terrified to talk to a girl? I didn't suffer much from that. It seemed very natural to me to talk to girls."

On enjoying the spotlight:
"I love attention. I can't stand not having it. It just has to be the right kind. To do what you love, to be with the people you love? That's all I want. That's the 'kwan.'"

On the two types of men when it comes to women:
"There's two kinds of men. There are men who are f**king misogynist pigs, and then there are men who just really love women, who think they're the most amazing people in the world. And that's me. Maybe the reason I was promiscuous, and wanted to sleep with a lot of them, is that I love them so much."

source

The Dark Knight Rises Screenwriter Hints At An Emotional Ending

Only for a movie as hugely anticipated as The Dark Knight Rises can the vaguest bit of information about the ending be considered spoiler-worthy. But just as fans of Harry Potter spent years pondering what J.K. Rowling meant when she said she had already written the last line of the last book, screenwriter David S. Goyer's recent hints about the ending of The Dark Knight Rises-- and the finale of Christopher Nolan's trilogy of Batman films-- can make your brain spin. From Empire Magazine (as transcribed by Screen Rant), here's what he had to say about how long he and Christopher Nolan have known exactly how their Batman trilogy will end:

"The final scene of The Dark Knight Rises is exactly [the] scene we talked about [when Christopher Nolan and I started the trilogy with Batman Begins]. It remained completely unchanged. We both knew in our hearts that we were onto something special. I have to tell you, having finally seen everything strung together a little while ago and seeing that scene, I got a complete lump in my throat.”

Alright, so far so good-- these two planned way ahead, and they pulled it off, and we can all consider it a good thing. Now here's where things get a little spoilery, maybe. The Empire interviewer suggested to Goyer that that long-imagined ending might be hugely anti-commercial, given that Nolan and Goyer are wrapping up their time with the Bat and can really leave things wherever they want. Rather than play coy, Goyer went right for it:

"“Yup! That’s why it’s ****ing exciting!”"

For as long as Nolan's dark universe for Batman has been clear, there's been speculation that he might be willing to kill the hero at the end of his run as director-- after all, what better way to explore the lawlessness and despair of Gotham City than to kill the hero we all rely on? Of course, the studio has already made plans for more Batman movies once Nolan steps away, but if you know comics you know that they can easily kill Batman in the Nolan universe and bring him back, good as new, in another series of films.

But would Nolan actually do it? I still have a hard time believing he'd take joy in killing off the character he's devoted nearly a decade to exploring, regardless of what the studio wants. But maybe that's just wishful thinking from someone who generally wants her superheroes a little less dark. Let us know in the comments what you think Goyer might be referring to, but also embrace the fact that there's absolutely no way we'll know for sure until the movie finally comes to theaters July 20.

What do you think, ONTD?

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Dark-Knight-Rises-Screenwriter-Hints-An-Emotional-Ending-31142.html

Zefron, Jason Bateman, Leslie Mann and more in talks to join the cast of 'This Is Where I Leave You'

Zac Efron, Jason Bateman, Leslie Mann would play siblings and Goldie Hawn their mother with Jason Sudeikis as Bateman's boss and Malin Akerman as Bateman's wife. Yet to be cast, among others, a third brother and Zac's (cougar) fiancée.

More about the project's plot from FirstShowing.net:

Director Adam Shankman just finished directing Rock of Ages, the 80's jukebox musical starring Tom Cruise that hits theaters next month, but the filmmaker is changing his tune considerably for his next project. This Is Where I Leave You is an ensemble piece based on Jonathan Tropper's novel about four siblings who come home to sit shiva after their father passes away, and what happens when they're trapped in the same house for a week.

Deadline reports Jason Bateman, Zac Efron, Leslie Mann, and Goldie Hawn are in talks to join the cast, with Hawn playing the matriarch and the other three playing siblings.

Tropper, who also wrote an adaptation of the Jimmy Stewart classic Harvey that once had Robert Downey, Jr. and Steven Spielberg attached, wrote the This Is Where I Leave You screenplay based on his own novel. We've seen comedies that revolve around death before, most notably in the excellent 2007 British version of Death at a Funeral, so this isn't a new concept. But with talent like Bateman, Efron (who I think has a lot to offer in a post-High School Musical world) and Mann involved, this has the potential to be an enjoyable family comedy that goes to some dark places. There's one more sibling yet to be cast, so we'll keep you posted on the progress of this one as it heads for a September start date. Sound good?

From Variety:

Malin Akerman and Jason Sudeikis are in talks to join Adam Shankman's family drama "This Is Where I Leave You" for Warner Bros.

~*~ fun fact: Leslie has played wife opposite both Zac and Jason in other movies ~*~

1, 2

The Top Ten Most Ridiculous Movie Posters At Cannes This Year
It can be difficult to make a movie stand out, especially in the independent market. Cinema has been around for well over a century and story-telling has been around for a few millennia, so it’s getting hard to come up with an original idea that grabs an audience’s attention from the title alone.

Unfortunately, that hasn’t stopped people trying.

Collider have been at Cannes this week, picking up posters for movies with titles that seem engineered purely to scream “look at me!” in the undulating mass of films crowding for attention at the festival. Here we rank the finest examples of the year, judged by creativity, silliness and artistic merit.

10. Lesbian Vampire Warriors

This one ranks pretty low due to the sheer laziness of the title. It’s one word away from Lesbian Vampire Killers, a movie that thought of a funny title and then forgot to add any more humour beyond that. “Lesbian” to pull in the perverts, “Vampire” because blood-sucking is so hot right now, and “Warriors” because just calling the film “Lesbian Vampires” would make it sound like softcore porn. Too little, too lame. What’s next?

9. Ghost Shark

The first of many animals-with-a-twist movies on this list, Ghost Shark comes from the subgenre of aquatic mutant horror that brought you gems such as Sharktopus, Giant Squid Vs Mega Shark, and Two-Headed Shark Attack. Films like this make me wonder if Stephen Spielberg knew what kind of monster he was creating when he made Jaws; the amount of bad press heaped upon the mild-mannered mugger of the seas is enough to warrant the formation of a Shark Anti-Defamation League.

8. Dragon Wasps

I rate Dragon Wasps higher than Ghost Shark simply because wasps rarely seem to play the villain in horror movies, and that’s surprising considering that wasps are probably among the most spiteful, evil, soulless, malevolent abominations buzzing around the planet today. Adding the word “Dragon” to the title and (apparently) blowing the wasps up to the size of a house for this film was overkill. Just call the movie “Wasps!” and you’ll have more nightmare potential than you know what to do with.

7. Vampire Dog/Wizard Dog

Poor Vampire Dog probably didn’t realise that he would be competing with Lesbian Vampire Warriors, and to make matters worse he’s going into the canine fantasy arena with equally strong contendor Wizard Dog. We’ll put these two together on our list in the hope that they reconcile their differences and make a crossover sequel.

6. Robin Hood: Ghosts of Sherwood

I’ll freely admit that I’ve not heard of a single one of the films on this list, even if that does make me a terrible film journalist. To be fair to all of them, I’m also judging based purely on the posters and titles without researching the plot of any of them, and this is the first so far to test my dedication to that policy. With a cast that includes Kane Hodder and Tom Savini, Robin Hood: Ghosts of Sherwood is certainly one of the more intriguing titles on this list. The producers also apparently spent a lot of the budget on shooting it “In real 3-D, No conversion!” and are desperate to wring appreciation for that decision out of their prospective audience. I don’t know, that little red badge makes me feel uneasy. It has the tone of a microwave cheeseburger from a budget supermarket with a big sticker on it that says “50% less hooves!”

5. Million Dollar Crocodile

Now for some more animals-with-a-twist horror, and this one ranks highly because I believe it’s referencing The Six Million Dollar Man. In turn, that leads me to believe that the Million Dollar Crocodile gets its own intro and theme at the start of the film, and that thought makes me inexpressibly happy.

4. Dead Sushi

Oh, you thought your mutant animal was safe just because you killed it, diced it, and served it up with rice? There’s a plot to be had here yet!

3. Fire Twisters

I admire these filmmakers for resorting to one of the lesser-used methods of reinventing a genre. In this case it’s the weather-gone-bad disaster movie, and the makers of the above film seem to have spent an evening in watching Jan DeBont’s 1996 film Twister and asked each other, “How do we make this simultaneously more cool and more frightening?” The answer, as always, is to set it on fire.

2. You Can't Kill Stephen King

Like Robin Hood: Ghosts of Sherwood, this poster makes me desperately want to find out more about the film it’s advertising. Almost like a poster is supposed to do. This poster is at number 2 purely because of the sight of poor Cujo doggy-paddling with enormous bat ears sticking up and a shocked expression like he’s just seen Patrick Moore doing a pole dance. Points to anyone who recognises the other King stories referenced in this poster.

1. Zombie Ass

Because when all else fails, there will always be zombies. And ass.

Source

Bill Murray walks in slow motion for fan video

It never hurts to ask. At least that’s what filmmaker David Walton must have thought when he opted to ask Bill Murray to appear in his fake movie trailer rather than requesting a simple autograph.

Murray’s one of the most elusive and eccentric characters in Hollywood, a mystery wrapped in an enigma wrapped in golf pants, and this kind of spontaneous decision making seems pretty in character for a guy who doesn’t have a manager and has been known to crash strangers' parties (Exhibit A) . And the results are as good as you’d hope: Murray walks down a hallway in a dramatic, slow-motion scene a la Wes Anderson, dubbed over with a Kinks song. It’s not clear when the trailer was filmed, but the clip was discovered via Reddit last week.

<lj-embed id="456940" />
(Here's a direct link in case the embed doesn't work: http://vimeo.com/20089652 )

Though the trailer is fake — there’s unfortunately no forthcoming film called A Film about Walking in Slow Motion – it pays homage to Murray’s proclivity for Wes Anderson movies. Check out his latest one, “Moonrise Kingdom,” which is out in limited release.

SOURCE

Christian Musician on how to Conquer Porn, Lust & Fat

Christian recording artist Jimmy Needham gives tips on how to claim victory over porn, lust, and being fat.

From the age of 9 until about 7 years ago, I was deep in the trenches of porn addiction. Yep, for the better part of 10 years of my life my identity was wrapped up in my lustful habits. At the worst point I was looking at pornographic material every day, often never leaving my room except to go to school.

God gave me a number of decisive victories over lust that year, and eventually 1 week of freedom turned into 2, turned into 3, and then one day I just never returned to internet porn.

In the text, he shares his own story and experience with his weight, his struggle with porn - and how these sins are connected. He says, "If the victory you experience over one is a real, Jesus-given victory, the others will have a much harder time sticking around."

I went from a 42 waist to a 34. I even dropped a shoe size! It occurred to me recently that these two victories happening simultaneously might not have been mere coincidence. ...Perhaps spiritual fruit isn’t the only thing that is concatenated. Perhaps our sins can be too.

At the end of the text, Needham commented, "The reason I am writing these things is to provide one more round of ammunition in your arsenal against sin."

Months ago I listened a most fascinating and challenging sermon by one of my favorite teachers, Tim Keller. The sermon was called “How to Change”. Do yourself a favor and find it on iTunes immediately. His talk tackled the fruit of the Spirit as addressed the book of Galatians. Keller quoted the wise Puritan theologian Jonathan Edwards who in one of his books was quoted as saying “There is a concatenation of the graces of Christianity”. Concatenation. It’s a weird word but it’s packed with meaning. Basically, Edwards was saying that there is a deep interconnectedness between the fruit of the Spirit, so that you can’t truly have one without the others. If you experience peace, but no humility, what you really have is a shell of peace, a façade that will show itself to only be circumstantial in the end. True peace must necessarily be partnered with humility because a truly peaceful person is someone who admits that God, and not they, is in control and that they submit to His will for their life. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control are all close relatives of each other. You can’t say your in the family and not be around all of them. Kinda like Everybody Loves Raymond. :) Over the past few years of observing myself and those around me, an idea has been developing in my mind about a different type of concatenation. But first, some things you may not know about me.

Fact #1: From the age of 9 until about 7 years ago, I was deep in the trenches of porn addiction. Yep, for the better part of 10 years of my life my identity was wrapped up in my lustful habits. At the worst point I was looking at pornographic material every day, often never leaving my room except to go to school.

Fact #2: From the age of 9 until about 7 years ago, I was severely overweight. In fourth grade I weighed 116 lbs. I was a 36 waist by the time I was eleven. In high school and college I weighed about 260 lbs.

All of that changed by my sophomore year of college. God gave me a number of decisive victories over lust that year, and eventually 1 week of freedom turned into 2, turned into 3, and then one day I just never returned to internet porn. It was such a burden lifted. Interestingly, at the exact same time my gluttonous eating patterns began to change. I was saying “no” to overeating, and pound by pound the weight began to fall off. In just a handful of months I lost almost 70lbs. I went from a 42 waist to a 34. I even dropped a shoe size! It occurred to me recently that these two victories happening simultaneously might not have been mere coincidence. Could it be that in some odd way, there was a link between the two and that by crippling one, the other crippled as well? Perhaps spiritual fruit isn’t the only thing that is concatenated. Perhaps our sins can be too.

By this point, you might be confused by what I mean. Let me give a couple more examples. I have two friends, both who struggle with lust (manifesting in a pornography addiction). As the battle with lust increased in Friend A, so did his battle with his weight. He would stumble by looking at porn and console himself by eating a meal. Conversely, he would gorge himself on food, and as sure as the sun rises would go to his room and get on the internet. On top of these two issues, slothfulness showed up to play. This man who was once very disciplined in his lifestyle was now sleeping past noon most days. Lust, gluttony, laziness, all manifested in his life at about the same time.

Friend B has two foibles: A constant losing battle with lust and a constant losing battle with dust. The dude is just a slob. Disorderliness and uncleanliness mark his existence. It is my opinion that for both of these men, there is a deep connectedness, a concatenation, of sins in their life.

My point is this: Lust, gluttony, slothfulness, uncleanliness, drunkenness, are members of the same family: Self-indulgence. They can no more be separated than Siamese twins who are connected at the heart. If one is in your life, it is incredibly easy for the others to show up. Consequently, if the victory you experience over one is a real, Jesus-given victory, the others will have a much harder time sticking around. I’ve seen this in my life and in the life of many folks around me.

The reason I am writing these things is to provide one more round of ammunition in your arsenal against sin. I don’t believe this truth is all you need to find victory. In my next blog I’ll be tackling what I believe the ultimate problem and solution are to the sin of lust. That is not what this blog is about. But this can still be ammo for you. Perhaps you are in the throes of lust and addiction and are desperate for freedom. Consider this counsel. Heed the words of Paul, “But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.” (1 Corinthians 9:27). By taking control of one part of your “body” you might be able to reign in the others. I wish I would have known this long before seven years ago. Perhaps I would’ve experienced victory sooner.

Source S2
relevant to all you sinners tbh

SIMON PEGG DELIVERS US FROM EVIL

Just as the speculation about villain in Star Trek 2 started to die down a bit (comparatively), Mr. Simon Pegg has thrown in his two-cents on the “Is it Khan?” debate. Speculation that Khan would be the villain in director J.J. Abrams’ sequel began pretty much as soon as the follow-up was announced. Given that Khan is one of the most memorable antagonists in the series’ history, it wouldn’t be completely out of left field to include him in Star Trek 2. There have been plenty of “confirmation” stories along the way, but Pegg now swears that the villain in the Star Trek sequel is not Khan.

When Benicio Del Toro was in negotiations for the villain role, a report surfaced that claimed to confirm that he would be playing Khan, which was then followed up by a swift denial from Abrams himself calling the story “not true.” The rumor mill continued when Del Toro left the project and a crop of Hispanic actors were in the mix to take over a role that was originated by a Hispanic actor (Ricardo Montalbon). The immensely talented Benedict Cumberbatch eventually landed the role, and as recently as late April another report surfaced “confirming” that Cumberbatch is playing Khan.

Pegg, a self-professed film nerd himself and a frequenter of movie blogs across the web, weighed in on the matter in an interview with The Telegraph (via Cinema Blend):

“It’s not Khan. That’s a myth. Everyone’s saying it is, but it’s not. I think people just want to have a scoop. It annoys me – it’s beyond the point to just ferret around for spoilers all the time to try to be the first to break them.”

It’s interesting to note that, even though speculation has run rampant over the past few months, the last official word we heard regarding the role was Abrams’ flat-out denial. At this point, all I’m looking for in Star Trek 2 is a great movie. I trust that Abrams and screenwriters Damon Lindelof, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman have chosen an appropriate antagonist for the story they want to tell, and whether it’s Khan or not I just want a good movie. Hopefully we’ll get our first look at the film this summer at Comic-Con to whet our appetites in anticipation of the May 17th, 2013 release.

source

and jj has not failed us again <3

Kim Kardashian 'Couldn't Care Less' About Paris Hilton Feud!!!

Paris Hilton is fuming over her frenemy Kim's meteoric rise to fame, but Radar has exclusively learned that Kim just shrugs off any news about her former bff.

"Kim couldn't care less about Paris, or what she thinks about her" a source close to Kardashian tells Radar.

While Paris was at the top of her fame her trusty sidekick was Kim, but they fought with each other and are now no longer friends. However, Kim's fame has skyrocketed since and this has infuriated Paris.

"Kim will always be a sore spot for Paris because she believes that without her Kim wouldn't have the success she has in her life" a source close to the situation told Radar. "Paris thinks Kim wasn't a loyal friend to her and only used her to gain fame and that she is ungrateful for everything Paris did for her."

Kim and her family have become household names the way the Hiltons once were, and this has annoyed Paris' family.

"Bottom line, Kim used her friendship with Paris, straight up" the source says. "She knows what she did and doesn't care. It's just like she's now using Kanye West to advance her agenda."

"Kim is so desperate for attention, even within her own family. She decides to wear ridiculous colored wigs for no reason other than to see how they all react to her."

"The Kardashians used the Hiltons all the way to the bank" the source says.

Radar

batman interview with senor bale

Guarded. That’s the way I would describe Christian Bale when I participated in a group interview with him last August on the set of Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises. Then again, when you’re making one of the biggest films of 2012, you probably don’t want to be the one who gives away any of the secrets. While Bale was very careful with his answers, he was also in a great mood, which made for a fun back and forth with the visiting journalists.

During the interview Bale talked to us about filming in IMAX, if he’ll miss making Batman movies, his relationship with Anne Hathaway‘s character, if he’s happy with the way the story ends, what it’s been like working with Marion Cotillard and Tom Hardy, the fight scenes, and a lot more. Hit the jump to either read or listen to the interview.

As usual, I’m offering you two ways to get the interview: you can either click here for the audio, or the full transcript is below. The Dark Knight Rises opens July 20.

Question: What’s it like shooting in IMAX?

Christian Bale: I have had a little experience from the last one and when we made The Prestige, Chris was experimenting with it at that time. Some of the stuff with twin brother and everything like that, we used it. It’s bloody noisy with those cameras, you know you’re going to have to do ADR whenever there’s the IMAX camera coming out, but it’s going to be a hell of a great looking shot. It was stunning in The Dark Knight. I remember sitting in the premiere and people were just like, “Oooh!” feeling like they’re in it. It’s a lovely piece of machinery.

Can you talk about the percentage that he’s been using it on this film?

Bale: No bloody idea. Ask him about that. I’m not an actor that tends to care. I don’t ask “Is this a close up? Is this a master? Is this a wide? What are you doing?” If I look up and notice the camera I go “Oh, it’s a big one today, must be an IMAX.” And that’s kinda it for me because it doesn’t affect what I’m doing.

There is a lot of hype about this film. Was there any doubt in your mind to make another with Chris Nolan again?

Bale: I knew it was going to happen for me because I was contracted to do this film. I had no choice, I would have been sued up the ying-yang and be on the street and penniless if I hadn’t done it. (lol) Chris, my understanding was, could have chosen not to do it, but he had always talked about this as being a trilogy and he liked the challenge that an awful lot of movies fail on the third one. There are some exceptions but most of the time that’s the tricky one to pull off. And I think he really likes the challenge of that.

Are you going to miss playing Batman after this?

Bale: Course I will, yeah. Yeah, definitely.

Will you miss wearing the suit?

Bale: For all the discomfort and the heat and the sweat and the headaches and everything from it, when you sit back and watch the movie at the end of the day, you go: “Well, that’s fuckin’ cool. ” I will miss that, I liked the good bit of rubber.

Can you talk about Bruce’s relationship with Selena in this movie? We’ve seen pictures of them holding hands.

Bale: Have you? You think you have, have you? Aaah, maybe some people are seeing things and they don’t know what they’re looking at? It’s quite interesting to watch and hear what people think we’re doing. You look and go, “That’s not what we’re doing. But never mind, let’s let people think that’s what we’re doing. ”

How much does he fall in love with her?

Bale: I’m figuring it all out as I go along. And I’m seeing Chris sitting on this shoulder here and my Emma Thomas sitting on this shoulder right now as you’re asking the question going: “Don’t say anything! You know you’re not allowed to answer that one. ” I think let’s leave that one until you see the movie.

Your hair’s a bit longer in this movie than the others. Is there any significance to that?

Bale: Yeah, a little. But we’ve always had to mess around… Every single movie that we’ve done for the Batman stuff has always had hair that we’ve had to be able to adapt to different looks throughout. So the longer you keep it the more you can do with it. Am I doing a good job? I’m kinda answering the questions but not really giving you shit.

You are making a trilogy with Chris Nolan –as there is an end movie, does it leave you the freedom to create a good character arc in this movie?

Bale: I have no clue what the audience is going to think about the movie. Thank god I got someone like Chris who is really great at gauging that. He represents the audience for us on the set. So for me, I love the character so much that you’d get a very bizarre Batman movie. People would go, “What the hell? Why are we delving so much into his psyche? ” He is a fascinating character and then Chris just has to tell me the points when it gets tedious and boring and doesn’t want to see what I’m doing. It’s great having someone at the helm who’s – He’s remarkably confident at going with his gut and not desiring any safety net or anything to fall back on. There are a number of times when I say to him: “Are you sure you don’t want me to do a few other variants? I can do this one, and what if later down track you choose to change this part of the story, in that case we need to change the domino effect. If you want I can give you three or four different ways you can play it. ” He’s like: “No, no I know what I want. ” That’s exactly the thing that I need, he’s very firm with it. It is a fascinating character. In honesty, there are probably a lot of stories that can be told with Batman. I like the idea of him growing older and he can’t quite do it as much anymore. But I kind of feel, you have to leave when the going is good and this is when Chris wants to wrap it up. And it’s the right time.

Are you happy were his story ends with this movie?

Bale: Yeah, very.

By the third movie is Batman’s drive still fed by the death of his parents? Or has he accepted a larger responsibility for Gotham that is not necessarily fueled by that anymore?

Bale: To me, he has it all; it’s all in there. The thing is, he is still that child basically. The one thing that I do know, and there’s an awful lot in the graphic novels, which we’ve played with a little bit, is this whole notion of him genuinely being a playboy versus what we’ve done, which is he sort of performs that but his heart’s not really in it. And the eternal problem that Alfred has with watching this guy who has no life. He’s put his entire life on hold because, yeah, he still does. He’s got this fierceness in his mind and emotions that he just will not forget the pain of the parents. With most people it’s like time heals all wounds, but with him it’s like, “No, no, no. ” He doesn’t want to forget it, he wants to maintain that anger that he felt at that injustice but equally he wants to present this very vacuous soulless persona to Gotham so hopefully no one will suspect him but will just think he’s a spoiled bastard. But consequently in his most intimate moments he has Alfred, he has Rachel and there is not a whole lot there, because it’s complete arrested development. And the recognition that at some point he’s got to start living. He is seriously behind in terms of life and enjoyment of life. That’s all been sacrificed and at some point, hopefully it’s Alfred’s wish that he will start to live again. Of course this tragedy has defined him but to a degree he’s sacrificed everything that most people would consider worth living for in life and he’s going to have relearn that, embarrassingly late in life.

How much time has passed in this movie since the last movie and is anything from the previous movie dealt with in this one?

Bale: There’s an awful lot of new discoveries, truths coming out, and the whole question of what’s the correct thing to do? Continue with lies and make people feel good or have the truth come out and devastate and ruin people’s lives. So yes, absolutely, it goes back to Batman Begins and Dark Knight and deals with an awful lot from both of those movies.

How much time has passed?

Bale: It’s been, I would say years. I don’t know if Chris would want me to say exactly how long, but it’s not the next day. There’s been quite a change within him.

Tell us about working with Marion Cotillard and Tom Hardy?

Bale: It’s a real good cast. I worked with Marion really briefly in Public Enemies and she’s wonderful and versatile actress. So far the work’s been really great with her. With Anne [Hathaway] likewise, I think she’s doing something very different then what most people probably would have seen her do before. And Tom, who I’ve been working with mostly the last few weeks, he’s a real fascinating actor. He’s going to be creating some wonderful characters over his career and he’s doing so with this. He’s kind of just gleeful coming into work every day. He’s got a great character that he can chew the scenery with in a good way He’s the real deal. I’m very impressed with him. I’m very impressed with all the cast on this one.

A lot of photos have surfaced on the net of you fighting Bane. Have you seen them?

Bale: I’ve seen them.

Can you talk about crafting fight scenes with Tom?

Bale: We have fantastic stunt guys. Buster Reeves, who’s have been with us since the first one, and Tom Struthers. And thing is, this is sort of what we do. They kind of work out what they’d like to see in the fights and Tom and myself come in and bring in the story to the fights. Because a fight that is just a knock down, everyone punching each other, ceases to be really exciting after a while. You’ve got to figure a way to tell a story within the fight. And also you can get some very trained fighters who can follow and incredibly fast and furious fight, but I don’t know about you guys but as you watch UFC sometimes you’re going “I dunno what’s going on. ” It looks like a bloody mess. You sometimes have to be able to just look at it with eyes like myself, someone who’s not a trained fighter and understand what’s happening, and it’s amazing the difference that between the fantastic stuntmen that come in and do their jobs and when we, Tom and I, come in and say “all right I get that, but this is what I’ve got to be thinking here, so I’ve got to do it this way. ” And actually seeing a fight that has description and a beginning, middle, and end to it is a wonderful thing, keeps it so much more entertaining and means so much more then showing off a few martial arts moves.

Has Mark called you about another Fighter?

Bale: We haven’t spoken anything about it, I’ve heard that he’s been talking with some people about it, but he hasn’t spoken to me about it.

source

Lawson 'so inspired' by One Direction and The Wanted success

The new boyband-on-the-block reveal their plans to swoop in and take over the gap in the UK market.

With One Direction and The Wanted off taking America by storm, back in Britain we’re getting our boyband fix courtesy of Lawson.

Andy Brown, Adam Pitts, Joel Peat and Ryan Fletcher have just released their debut single, When She Was Mine, and they have been making quite a name for themselves over the past year, touring the country with acts like The Wanted, before embarking on their own headline tour.

With their Wanted buddies and One Direction flying the flag for Brit bands around the globe, the handsome lads have big plans to make fill the gap in the UK market.

Speaking backstage at In:Demand Live, they said: “With all the other boybands, they’re all just doing so well in America. It’s so inspiring to see them, so while they’re over there, weve got the guitar band going on here, so we’re just going to sweep straight through in the UK market and hopefully take that little gap.”

They added: “We watched The Wanted come from their first theatre tour and now they’re like massive in America. Like Ryan says, we’re massively inspired by all the acts we’ve supported.”

Although the group picked up performance tips from The Wanted, they didn’t exactly sit down for a heart-to-heart with the band.

“Instead of talking to us and giving us advice, they just do pranks on us,” they laughed.

The talented lads have also found fans in a host of celebrities, with Olly Murs recently Tweeting: “Hey lads @LawsonOfficial heard ya NEW Tune & Video on tv today!! Proper tunnnnnnne lads!!!”

With their headline tour a sell-out, the boys were also keen to praise their loyal fans, especially the Glaswegian girlies.

“We’re halfway through the headline tour. We started the date in Glasgow and the whole room was bouncing - it’s not been better than Glasgow.

Source
bless these amazing beings tbh their cover of "Moves Like Jagger" is my current jam
ps DYING at how Lawson is currently beating The Wanted on the charts

EDIT: Lawson are NOT a Boyband For Yall Who Don't Know. With a BAFTA nod, and Empire and UK Regional Film Critics' Rising Star trophies gracing his mantle, our Man Of The Year gong tops off what could only be described as a stellar year for the Brit actor.
GLAMOUR.com highlight of the year: Tom is set to challenge R-Patz for the hottest vampire crown, with new vamp flick, Only Lovers Left Alive.Swoon.

Tom says: "Scarlett Johansson is one of the coolest people I know. She was always having house parties."

1 2

The funniest show on Television is back TONIGHT

<lj-embed id="456890" />

A tl;dr interview:

The third season of Workaholics, everybody's favorite innebriated slacker comedy, premieres tonight. In anticipation, Complex catches up with the stars who put in hard work to make it look like they do nothing at all.

Adam DeVine, Anders Holm, and Blake Anderson are in Van Nuys, CA, shooting an action sequence with pyrotechnics at the crib where Adam and Blake used to live. Their old dump has been transformed into a dumpy set for their Comedy Central series Workaholics.

Two years ago, big production days were just a dream. Along with co-creator/director Kyle Newacheck (who also plays the show’s drug-dealing “rape van” owner, Karl Hevacheck), the guys were making Internet videos as the sketch group Mail Order Comedy. And that was their side hustle. Adam worked the door at the Improv and did stand-up, Anders wrote for Real Time with Bill Maher, and Blake delivered pizzas. Then Walter Newman, an exec at Comedy Central, saw their videos and asked them to pitch a show, then shoot a pilot.

The guys expanded their online series 5th Year, about three recent college grads and roommates (Adam DeMamp, Anders Holmvik, and Blake Chesterfield Henderson—guess who plays who…) who barely hold down shitty telemarketing gigs and are unmotivated to do anything more than get fucked up. The network was impressed. It ordered a 10-episode season. Workaholics premiered in April 2011. Fast-forward to 2012 and Adam (28), Anders (30), and Blake (28), are now filming season three.

Back on set, a pyrotechnics expert warns Blake, “Don’t look over your shoulder.” The crew is preparing to shoot a scene on a hovercraft… in the backyard pool. Sparks and a five-foot flame are going to shoot out of the vessel’s rear, where Blake, and his trademark mustache and frizzy blonde locks, will be crouched. There’s a good chance this will be his “Pepsi setting Michael Jackson’s hair on fire” moment.

It’s evident from watching the guys at work, that the irony suggested by the show’s title only applies to the characters. These dudes share a love for partying but they were grinding at comedy before Comedy Central happened: Blake with the Groundlings and Upright Citizen Brigade, Adam and Anders with the Second City Conservatory. Despite a growing legion of fans, they still put in work like it could all end tomorrow. But unless they pull a Chappelle, it’s unlikely they’ll disappear any time soon.

After an initial misfire, when the special effects rig did little more than blow smoke up everyone’s ass, fire shoots out of the hovercraft’s ass and the guys launch a fleet of abandon-ship jokes. With the shot secured, Adam, Anders, and Blake retreat into a room adjacent to Uncle Blazer’s former, real-life bedroom and current, television bedroom to talk to Complex about male nudity, getting trashed with fans, and comedy beef.

The workout theme of your Complex photo shoot is fitting, considering how frequently you guys take your clothes off on Workaholics. Was that a calculated move to advertise the goods?
Anders: There was a clamoring that had to be addressed.

Adam: Naked dudes are inherently funny.

Blake: And we grew up with some of the best shirtless dudes in history: the Hulk Hogans, the Stallones, the Arnolds.

Adam: And our dads.

Blake: All our dads look pretty good with their shirts off.

Adam: Dads in the late ’80s, early ’90s did not wear shirts. Too many dads nowadays are wearing shirts. They need to take those off, and let those titties breathe.

Anders: I don’t think I’ve ever seen my dad with his shirt off. It’s always been V-necks.

Blake: Didn’t he used to be a bodybuilder?

Anders: Yeah, but then I happened.

Blake: But I bet he looked tight with his shirt off.

Is it fair to say that, as comedy troops go, the Workaholics are the most athletically gifted?
Adam: 100 percent.

Anders: We got a natural hard body sitting catty-corner from me over there. Look at this guy.

Blake: What can I say? It doesn’t take a lot—except for riding the bike every day.

Adam: Working out. Eating right ev-er-y day.

Anders: For like six hours. But the answer is, yeah.

Adam: We’re willing to fight any three-man sketch group to the death.

Anders: Three or four.

Would you prefer a non-lethal physical competition?
Adam: I guess we could work out instead of fighting to the death.

Anders: All physical competitions are a metaphor for fighting, so we might as well get down to the nitty gritty.

Blake: We’d have Kyle as our fourth, and he can beat up anybody. [Everyone nods.] He’s pretty fat, but when he gets to fighting he throws his weight around.

Adam: A lot of people don’t know Kyle is 6’ 9’’.

Anders: On the Richter scale.

Adam: One time, Kyle and me fought. Afterwards, when it had diffused, he says to me [whispering menacingly]: “Big! Czech! Hands! Oh, you’re lucky I didn’t hit you with these BIG…CZECH…HANDS…” [Everyone laughs.] When he gets drunk, Kyle is one of the worst people. [Laughs.] Sometimes he’s great but most times he goes to a dark spot.

Anders: He’s a psycho.

Adam threw pizza in my butthole once. We fought about that. We were in Chicago on our first comedy tour. Drunk. Livin’ life.
—Blake

What were you two fighting about?
Adam: We were having a party and this girl was sitting on my lap on our old roommate’s bed. I was talking to her and things were going great. Then Kyle comes in and says he needs to talk to her real quick. So she gets off my lap and goes in the hallway. They take one step back—I can totally hear them—and Kyle says, “So what’s up?” Just starts hitting on her. I came in the hallway yelling, “What the fuck, man? She was just sitting on my lap, bro!” She got all weirded out ’cause I’m like half-crying…

Anders: [Laughs.] I was gonna marry her!

Adam: She left and I threw my beer at Kyle. He swung at me but it was just the drunkest swing ever. Then I crawled up him like a koala—’cause he’s a lot taller than me—and squeezed him with all my might and all he could do was swing at me like a T-Rex. That was also the night Kyle met Ders for the first time.

Anders: He tried to fight me, too.

Adam: Kyle was back on my team at that point. Ders was taking back the Jamie Foxx DVD he’d loaned me, and Kyle says, “Who the fuck are you, bro?” Ders was like, “I’m taking my Jamie Foxx DVD back,” and Kyle goes, “You can’t take that! That’s Adam’s friend’s Jamie Foxx DVD!”

Anders: Then Adam comes out of nowhere and says, “This is the guy,” and Kyle’s like, “I don’t fucking know this guy, bro.” [Everyone laughs.] The next day we all went and saw Kung Fu Hustle. The rest is history.

More at the sauce: Bitch betta have my honey

Please feel free to take this time to discuss the epic, legen-wait for it-dary juggalo episode.

Paris Hilton Dismisses Louder

She has however retweeted this article (previously posted on ontd) which mentions both the song and the date. With less than a week to go, we'll know soon enough. What I can confirm is that this years northern hemisphere Summer will belong to Paris & her highly anticipated sophomore album.

source

Songs People Never Need To Cover Ever Again

Don’t worry, it’s not another blog about bloody X Factor. Let the tear-snuffling emotional pilgrims do what they want – it’s only TV. Nor is it about sacrilege – the best covers always leaven their tribute with irreverence. It’s about those moments where a band, sometimes a band you love, crack out a choice of cover that makes you go, ‘guys, really? REALLY?’

These horrors are usually the preserve of B-sides, second encores or acoustic radio sessions. Covers as album tracks are usually well-chosen, thought-through experiments where the original song, the covering artist and some mysterious catalyst create something new. The casual, impromptu nature of the ‘well, we need another song, quick!’ moment, though, can lead to some rash decisions, veering recklessy into the hard-shoulder of the overdone and the ultra-iconic. Some songs just do no one any favours, not matter who and no matter how they do it. For instance…

The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby’/'Blackbird’

Two of the most taken-on of all time, these. It’s not that the Beatles are uncoverable – such a range of work means there’s lots of lesser-known gems, lots of possible perspectives, lots of iconoclasm to be had. So why stick with the obvious? And nobody needs Dave Grohl showing us his emotional depth on the latter, cheers.

Leonard Cohen - 'Hallelujah’

I wonder if when Laughing Len first penned this soul-scouring dissection of love’s dysfunctions, that he could have imagined it being performed by one of the characters in One Tree Hill? Of course not. No one could have imagined One Tree Hill.

The Zutons - 'Valerie’

The classic case of the cover that overtook the original – nobody is actually thinking of Dave Zuton when they sing this any more. Amy Winehouse owned the song totally, and her death adds a whole other level of ‘don’t go there’ – a live snatch of it was the only low point of Azealia Banks' first UK shows. She recorded little enough, leave it with her, eh?

Bob Dylan - 'Knockin On Heaven’s Door’

Guns N’ Roses we will allow, if only because who the fuck could even be arsed arguing with Axl these days. But the rest of you – you ain’t as rawk as you think you are, k?

The Rolling Stones - ‘Satisfaction’

Whether sincere, in which case you will not live up to it, or ‘reinventing’ it, in which case you are ill-advisedly trying to steal Cat Power’s thunder, why would you do this to yourself?

Anything by Joy Division

But most especially ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’. If you were going to a big party, you wouldn’t go dressed in a replica of Marilyn Monroe’s Seven Year Itch frock, would you? No, because you’d look like you were in fancy dress and people would think you were not all there. That’s why you don’t cover ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.

Nirvana - ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’
<lj-embed id="456871" />
It’s not just the era-defining iconicity of the song, it’s that there’s nowhere you can take it. You can’t popify it – the whole point of Nirvana, their controversy, was making the underground mainstream and poppy. You can’t make it more fucked up, more sad – that’s all right there in the foreground, bumping up against the big bouncy riffs. And you certainly can’t top it. So don’t try. But please don’t go for ‘All Apologies’ instead.

The Velvet Underground - ‘Sunday Morning’/’Pale Blue Eyes’

They’re cool, the Velvet Underground, aren’t they? Very cool. But a bit scary… apart from when they’re being pretty and twinkly! Get knotted.

Any current big pop hit in an indie/acoustic fashion

Otherwise known as the ‘Travis do Britney’s ‘Baby One More Time’ model. If that’s your model, whatever you chisel in its image, whether sad-face Rihanna or ‘now with added angst’ Gaga will be dire. We’ll say this one more time, baby – pop music is not ipso facto stupid and devoid of emotion. By waving an acoustic guitar at it and putting your ‘thinking really hard’ face on, you are more likely to detract than enrich.

Any golden-oldie alternative hit in a drippy, trembly-breathed acoustic-girl fashion
What are you trying to do here, sell me contents insurance?
<lj-embed id="456872" />

Source.
