She's so irish! you could tell Ellen and the audience were totally lost when she was telling that story. if she had told it on graham norton it would have killed!
Unpopular opinion but I Could Never Be Your Woman is such a fantastic and adorable movie. Please give it a chance! I loved it so much so that I almost forgot she was Bri... NO.
lol I used to have a friend named Siobhán and I never even though about it since I'd just heard her name, but every time I saw her name on paper it was like a major mind-fuck.
Ellen is such a bitch... you can tell she got annoyed because her story was 'too long'. I know Saiorse won't have a big chance of winning, but I'm glad she's getting recognition at least, because she's a great actress!
Seriously and Saiorse picked up on it so quickly and looked embarrassed and down. Damn Ellen. Still better than Jimmy Fallon interrupting every guest telling him he LOVES THEM!
Yeah that seemed *really* unprofessional for a talk show host, it came across like she was sick of hearing her guests story and wanted her to wrap it up already, but surely as the host your most important job is to act interested in your guests, even if you secretly find them boring or whatever
Dennis Quaid announcing her GG nomination had me cackling.
But also, at what point can she stop being asked about how to pronounce her name and/or feel obligated to talk about how to pronounce it when it's literally been almost a decade since she has been in the public eye and if people haven't gotten it by now, I'd give up on it ever happening.
Right? I feel like every time she has a movie out, this is the main topic of conversation for all of her press for it. Every single time. Feel bad for the girl, it's got to be tiresome and annoying at this point.
She's had a career for almost 10 years, so I don't understand why people can't Google her name and figure out how to pronounce it. It's not that difficult.
This, why do people act like she is a new comer? She was nominated for an Oscar when she like 13 for Atonement. And she was great in Hanna. Why do they make her feel so uncomfortable?
NO ONE knows how to pronounce my last name. It's similar to a common last name, so people seem to assume that the common name is my last name and I just don't know how to spell it. I had a professor in college who seriously pulled me aside and asked my why I never spelled my name "correctly".
At first I thought she was joking, then I said, "That's how you spell my last name, it's on the class registration with that spelling." Then she tried to tell me that it was written wrong on the registration sheet but that name was used across the whole system and I know it was written correctly in my other classes so she was obviously just trying to cover her ass.
people always pronouce my last name as "blue." i had a school counselor who knew me pretty well once, and his ass still called me, "ms. blue." ffs, if you're not going to get my name right, just call me "hey you" or call me by my first name.
my name is regina & I had a college prof ask for pronunciations/alternate names on the first day of the semester. when he got to my name he went with the saskatchewan pronunciation (rhymes with vagina) and I was like NO it's the catholic pronunciation not the canadian or the latin! & I melted into my seat.
People are always mispronouncing my name, or rather I should say Americans because plenty of foreign people can say it perfectly even though it's not common in their countries either. My first name is French and my last name is a rare Scottish one so I'm basically used to hearing people butcher both.
my first name is easy as fuck (it's just spelled the scandinavian way i guess lmao) but my last name is mispronounced and mispelled multiple times a day. i've given the fuck up. my grandpa anglicized it and everything but it didn't help. i have friends who i've known for over a decade and they still don't pronounce it properly.
lmao this question. unless you're haitian or french, there's no way in hell anyone can pronounce my name. i go by a nickname, but people struggle with that too like damn i can't catch a break.
I have a super easy last name, pronounced like it's spelled, and people still---- pretty sure people only get like 2 or 3 letters in when they read and then just go full fuck it or something.
People mispronounce both my names and it's so annoying. The worst to me though is when I've told someone multiple times how to say my name and they still don't get it.
wtf and this was a college professor/? some of them are so fucking rude and ignorant.
i have a pretty common chinese last name which is pronounced differently in english so in elementary school, i would have this teacher who would pronounce it incorrectly despite my correcting her. she would repeat and continue to call my last name by what she says is correct phonetics on purpose and she told me that my mom should have spelled my last name right.
i also have a pretty common american name but for some reason ppl fuck it up w/ the spelling or i would have ppl call out the male version of that name.
ppl always mispronounce my name, both first and last. my last name is a color with an e added on at the end but it's silent, and my first name gets butchered cuz it's ~foreign, rmfe.
Everyone mispronounces my last name, to the point where I always spell it out if I say it over the phone, like for an order or something. I was sure they'd say it wrong at my university graduation and my family would get embarrassed, but the dean said it right and I was like YASSSS.
shes likable and all but lol omg i hate when someone is telling you a story and gives you every little detail of shit that has little to do with the main point of their story. ellen had a face like wrap it the fuck up.
lol i have a friend that is TERRIBLE for that, he'll start off by saying he was playing some video game and give us every detail about the game before saying he like tripped at the store that day or something
I didn't think her story was too rambly but my bf does that all the fucking time, it drives me bonkers. Like get to the point (he gets it from his parents so when we visit them I am hell. a very nice hell)
Like... yes? It's an interview?
She forgot the website!
and her look was all - bitch i already am

I work with kids so if they say any name beginning with M, I know they're talking to me :)
i'm so happy she's still as talented as she was when she was a kid tbh, precocious child stars aren't always so lucky. lookin @ you abigail breslin
