I wouldn't date or marry a man who can't cook. It took me years to get my haitian cooking as good a my moms and I'm not gonna let some man reap the benefits of that and not give anything in return. And I wanna work....like he better be doing half the cooking.
But yeah, if the situation were reversed you can almost certainly guarantee nobody would call it spoiling. Because it's only "natural" for the Woman to do the spoiling.
Aside from maybe one birthday, no female I've been with has ever done the cooking/baking. That's always ever been my job. THOUGH, my dream Woman would Cook/Bakes, and tailors clothing. Not because she's a Woman and it's her job, but because I have this fantasy of us both rocking a meal for maybe thanksgiving, or just a random dinner party.
Oh, and the tailor part because I hate paying for clothes repairs. I'd do it myself, but I've been severely injured just trying to thread a needle.
That one drives me nuts. Yeah, we both have full-time jobs and busy lives, but when you clear out the dishwasher you're ~helping out around the house~. Want a cookie?
I've had so many people be so surprised my dad can cook. Whenever my mum would visit her parents, people'd go 'but who does the cooking? / Your father knows how to cook?'
Why wouldn't he?
The thirsT of modern media where a moderately good looking white man looking scruffy as fuck next to some cooking appliances is deemed to be sexy.
so true tho
Aside from those extremely rare and heartwarming moments, the only thing I miss about teaching is the gifts parents would give.
/tl;dr
I totally get feeling guilty about nice stuff. When I got a Nintendo DS, I felt super spoiled, even though I bought it with my own money but I never had enough money to buy something like that before so... I totally get feeling spoiled, but rest assured, you deserve something nice!!
Last year my boyfriend of almost five years broke up totally unexpectedly with me, too :| He fell in love with another girl and made out with her, but he told me the next morning. Then he invited her over the same evening and she stayed over and they were together from then on. I'm not gonna lie, you are probably right that your boyfriend was cheating, if you're feeling it in your gut. That situation definitely sounds fishy. But again, good riddance and you deserve something better!
The pain will get better. My advice is to do nice things for yourself. Like BIG nice things. Are there any concerts that you are looking forward to or events that might be cool to attend? Those things really help lift you up and make you see that there's still lots of fun for you to have out there. Maybe pick up another hobby. I started working out and running, which really did me well.
I really only find him attractive when he's singing and performing, the rest of the time I'm like.. meh :/
also hes so fucking ugly. bring back the fubu jackets and ramen hair. spice it up a bit JT.
Also OT but does anyone wanna pm me a link to the latest photoshop??? Jesus/Da Bae just blest me with a new computer for x-mas.
