Pop radio is not all radio.

I don't hear her that much on the pop stations but I don't feel like her songs these days are really designed for Top 40 radio. Which is actually a good call, she's getting too old to be competing with the pop girls in that game. Mariah and J-Lo should be taking a lesson from Beyonce

her music lacks hooks and isn't catchy.that's where she needs matthew knowles he knew how to ~~steal~~ pick out the right bops 4 her.

She gained her fans long ago. Also, I feel like a lot of the attention I see her getting is from teens on instagram/twitter, probably tumblr too. She probably pics up more new fans that way than through radio.

I don't know about radio... But I do know if the artist has enough hits that still resonate with people, have cemented their brand or status in the industry , and especially if they are known for being great live entertainers people will come to see them live, but may not buy their new album etc.

Hell people still go to see Alanis Morissette to hear Jagged Little Pill songs and that came out 19 years ago... Sure she's not doing stadiums selling out, but I mean it just goes to show if you have songs people want to hear live, you can still tour... Even if radio or people aren't buying your new stuff anymore.

Because I had a front row seat and I could see her the entire time. She had a backing track playing but the vocals were all hers. But I know she has done this before as have many pop stars. Evidently it is the new standard.
