'Thor 3' Spoilers: The Ragnarok And More; Third Movie To Include Loki's Wife Sigyn? Exclusive! Tom Hiddleston And Chris Hemsworth Hints Ragnarok Plot For Thor 3!
Kyle will be working on the "Thor 3" screenplay with Christopher Yost who has already written for "Thor: The Dark World."
Now that fans are sure to get their "Thor" fix, they can expect to see Thor (played by Chris Hemsworth), Jane Foster (played by Natalie Portman) and Loki (played by Tom Hiddleston) reprise their roles in the upcoming blockbuster.
The third "Thor" movie is said to show Asgard's demise.
According to "Thor 3" spoilers on Movie Pilot, Asgard could come to an end because of Chris Hemsworth's Thor as a part of the "apocalyptic comic book story of Ragnarok."
Movieweb mentions an interview Chris Hemsworth gave wherein he mentions an apocalypse happening, which fans connect to the Ragnarok.
"With the Avengers, we made it difficult to separate them each time there's some sort of conflict. It's like, where's the rest of the team? I liked that Thor has another universe to take care of and keep him occupied. I think that in the comic book, the sort of end of days, Armageddon aspect is probably the direction in which it will all head in. Where it's sort of the end of all things. There's obviously no script or anything. When I read the comic books, I thought it was an interesting way to go," says Hemsworth
In a different interview, Tom Hiddleston might have slipped a few times mentioning the Ragnarok and "Thor 3," saying:
"I think there are very interesting things that happen. In the mythology, when you get into Ragnarok, which is the "end of all things", it's not the end of the world...It's the end of time, and the universe, and space. And I think, if I am correct...Loki essentially, sets that in motion. And his motivation for doing so is intriguing and he almost becomes the incarnation of chaos, in a way...So I think that can be quite new."
He also mentions Loki's wife Sigyn:
" In the myth, he has a wife called Sigyn who protects him from a poison serpent who is dripping venom into his mouth. And she has a bowl over his mouth and of course the bowl keeps filling up and she has to empty it, and so his damnation could be interesting. I don't know...I mean, Loki is a character who's existed in popular consciousness for 3,000 years, so there are many, many iterations I could explore...It's just a question of whether audiences would want to see him again."

“Yeah I got a lot of time. I don’t think it’s just yet, Thor 3. I think it’s a ways away,” Hemsworth said at SDCC when asked about returning for Thor 3.
Marvel announced their schedule (see it below) which extends to 2019 and fans were quick to earmark 2017 as the return of the Norse God.
Screenrant said that Marvel’s decision to hold off a third Thor film was probably because of the Hemsworth’s schedule. The site wrote, “Let’s not forget that Hemsworth is a busy guy, with plenty of films on his slate already. Apart from picking up the hammer again for next year’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, he’s starring in Michael Mann’s Blackhat and Ron Howard’s Heart of the Sea, he’s rumored for Shane Black’s Doc Savage, and he’s taking over the Snow White and the Huntsman franchise with his own Huntsman-centric spin-off in 2016.”
Marvel has confirmed that the screenwriters have already been hired, and one of them is Marvel’s former senior vice president for production and development, Craig Kyle. Kyle will be penning the script together with Christopher Yost, whose previous work includes Thor: The Dark World.
Kevin Feige, President of Production for Marvel Studios, also has this to say about hiring Craig Kyle, “I am proud of Craig have enjoyed working with him over the past three years. His creative instincts have helped shaped Thor and Thor: The Dark World at every level of the filmmaking process”.
Movie Pilot website writes the Ragnarok will be part of the film as Thor could again be seen fighting his brother and will also be seen saving his own world. In another rumor it is learned the upcoming movie will feature a new main character. It will be based on its comic version and to be named as Amora the Enchantress. (other articles say she'll be a love interest for Loki)
It is also being suggested that Balder the brave can also join the cast of third instalment of "Thor." In the comic book, Balder was Thor's half brother and his friend, according to the website. If Loki goes out to find who he is then he can end up meeting Balder. Balder is reportedly Odin's legitimate son and not Loki.
Meanwhile, it seems that fans have to wait for a while before the third part of the franchise would go in production.
"Well we'll see. It won't be until probably sometime next year before we announce the 2016 movies and the 2017 movies, and a lot of that will depend on the reception to the next batch of movies. What we're actively working on is Thor's next appearance in 'Age of Ultron.' Where he goes beyond that we have a lot of ideas. You're right that where we leave the characters in this movie sort of hints what could happen in the future, but we'll see where that goes after Avengers 2," said Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Fiege when asked about the possibilities of Thor 3 to Screen Rant.
Thor would be next seen as the part of ensemble cast in "Avengers: Age of Ultron." It is being said that a lot of dynamics are going to change in regards to his character sketch in "Thor 3" based upon how the character progresses in "Avengers."
The complete cast of "Thor 3" is yet to be annouced. The film is reported to be written by Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost. Meanwhile, "Avengers-2" is set to be released next year.
In an exclusive interview with Collider.com in July, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige shared a few details about the current status of "Thor 3" and another Marvel project, "Captain America 3."
"Both in development, both in the works. Cap [Captain America] has already been announced, so that's up first. That's in a further stage. 'Thor' is being outlined right now, so both in the works," said Feige.
According to Movie Pilot, the plot of "Thor 3" could revolve around Asgard coming to an end because of Thor being a part of the "apocalyptic comic book story of Ragnarok."
Tom Hiddleston, who plays Loki, has mentioned the Ragnarok plot is a recent interview as well.
"I think there are very interesting things that happen. In the mythology, when you get to Ragnarok, which is 'the end of all things', it's not the end of the world … it's the end of time, and the universe, and space. And I think, if I am correct, Loki essentially sets that in motion. And his motivation for doing so is intriguing and he almost becomes the incarnation of chaos, in a way," the actor said.
Fans can expect Chris Hemsworth to be back to reprise his role as Thor. Hiddleston and Natalie Portman are reported to be back for the latest installment in the "Thor" movie franchise.
It was reported back in November by MovieWeb during an interview with Thor star Tom Hiddleston that Loki's wife, Sigyn, could possibly appear in the next movie in order to help Loki, who is now on the throne of Asgard posing as Odin. But what could this mean for Ragnarok?
In the comics, Odin's imprisonment of Loki enraged Sigyn, who secretly followed him as he traveled to Earth, and transported the real body of Donald Blake deep in the caverns of Mount Wundagore. In an attempt to steal Blake and use his as leverage to have Loki released. However, she accidentally destroyed Blake in the process of trying to free him from the spell created by Odin. She quickly covered her tracks by creating a doppelgänger of the mortal.
What We Know So Far About 'Thor 3'
While this doesn't directly deal with Ragnarok, the idea of her coming to Earth and using someone like that could be a storyline within Thor 3. Thor is currently on Earth and it is unsure if he will return to Asgard during the next Avengers movie or afterwards so he could still be on Earth when the third movie starts.
Sigyn could be used as someone keeping an eye on Thor while he is on Earth and the doppelgänger could be used as Sigyn's watching eyes on the God of Thunder, which in turn helps Loki as well.
It will be interesting to see if she does make an appearance and if her contribution will help in Loki's destruction of Asgard.
Comic Book Movie speculated about where Marvel would be heading with the Infinity Gauntlet storyline and whether it will start to take shape anytime soon with many of the Infinity gems already teased in previous movies.
In The Avengers, Loki is employed by Thanos to come and take over Earth using the Tesseract power, but ends up failing. The Tesseract and Loki were sent to Asgard where the events of Thor: The Dark World took place and Loki was assumed to be dead. But the site speculates that maybe that was part of the plan.
"Thanos employs Loki to get the Tesseract from Earth in exchange for Loki ruling Earth. WRONG! Thanos used Earth and Loki as a scapegoat for his real target. Asgard. Loki and the Tesseract are now on Asgard. As far as the universe is concerned, Loki's dead. But we know he's impersonating none other than Odin the All-Father," the site said.
"Thanos would've come to kill Loki if he'd failed, so evidently, Loki didn't fail. Thanos also probably wanted Earth to be taken over as well, but each step of this plan is a win/win for Thanos, really. If Loki had taken Earth, Thanos has a whole planet of slave labourers. Loki didn't conquer Earth, ends up impersonating Odin instead. So, Loki never really failed Thanos at all. He just completed Phase One."
It seems like Thanos now, without our knowledge, has access to both the Tesseract and Infinity Gauntlet. The other stones, the Aether from The Dark World and orb from Guardians of the Galaxy, are still not in his control, but could be in due time.
So could Thanos become a part of Thor 3? It is possible. With the Ragnarok plot line teased, the Mad Titan could use the destruction of Asgard to really push his plan into full gear for The Avengers 3.
