QUEEN SEE FUTURE WITH LAMBERT

Brian May says Adam Lambert has "woken up" Queen and hinted that their working relationship could continue beyond the current world tour.
Former American Idol contestant Lambert is out on the road with May and Roger Taylor and has won praise for the way he has filled in for the late Freddie Mercury.
May tells Eddie Trunk: “I think he’s woken us up — and just in time. There’s a big call to do more shows now. So, there’s a good possibility that we will do more shows. I think, beyond that, we’ll just see."
When Mercury died in 1991, May harboured no ambition to ever perform as Queen again. But with Lambert proving an able frontman, he feels it's right that the music is given centre stage again.
He adds: "It’s a great place to be. I feel so fortunate to be going out there. I never thought it would happen again. When Freddie went, I thought ‘That’s it. We did that. It was a great life. Now, it’s time to have a different life.’
"And for years, we didn’t try to be Queen in any way. I would look at the Forum in LA, and I would look at Madison Square Garden, and I would think ‘Those were the days.’ To come back now, all of these years later, and to fill those places and to hear that noise. That’s vindication for the fact that we should be playing, we should be out there. I feel overcome with it, really.”
Queen recently announced an archive album called Queen Forever, which will be produced by William Orbit and feature the vocals of Mercury. It is due out before Christmas.

The attention seeking reeks of desperation.

This pairing works so well...

I've never seen them live, but it feels weird that someone is replacing Freddie.
maerhys 14th-Aug-2014 07:02 pm (UTC)
yessss this gives me a chance to see them live.
ohwutevernvm 14th-Aug-2014 07:05 pm (UTC)
omg this could be a really good chance to see Queens live, finally. congrats to Lambert, that's pretty a big deal tbh

i was at their chicago show and lambert was just great. he has an awesome range and performance style. i looooove queen and could not stand that last dude they had touring with them. lambert was excellent though, and i really liked the way they staged the show with the big freddie tribue in the middle.

I was at the MSG show, and it was FANTASTIC. Unforgettable experience. Loved Queen since I was a child and Adam since Idol and the combination works so well.

I find myself wishing for an album of new material someday with that matchup, but I don't know if that would happen.
lovesfreddiem 14th-Aug-2014 07:13 pm (UTC)
They are great in concert tbh.
xcollsangelx 14th-Aug-2014 07:25 pm (UTC)
Love it.

My roommate went to the show multiple times and said he was rude and said some horrible things to some of the women at all the shows.
argeneau 14th-Aug-2014 08:14 pm (UTC)
Apart from telling us bitches to shake our asses in Fat Bottom Girls (which was done tongue in cheek), then I don't know what your roommate was talking about as he wasn't rude at my shows or in any videos I've watched from other shows.

this is the first time I hear about this tbh and it seems reaching since people always say how nice he is
lovesfreddiem 14th-Aug-2014 08:48 pm (UTC)
I saw them in July and all of them were super nice & kind. I can't speak for your friend and I'm sorry if she had a bad experience.

There were a lot of women at my show including my mom and I and I can't remember him saying anything to the women in the audience except when they sang Fat bottomed girls.
lipsticktraces 14th-Aug-2014 09:45 pm (UTC)
nah, i've been to a lot of his shows in the past, met him etc, he's incredibly nice..
volare 15th-Aug-2014 12:58 am (UTC)
nah the worst he's said has been "to all you fat ass bitches"... during Fat Bottomed Girls. Tongue in cheek and c'mon, with that song.
fwee_prower 15th-Aug-2014 03:51 am (UTC)
Lol that's what she complained about
ty 15th-Aug-2014 01:49 am (UTC)
He's a dick
flamed65 14th-Aug-2014 08:56 pm (UTC)
I'm glad adam has a job. He's really talented.
ty 15th-Aug-2014 01:50 am (UTC)
No, if he was really talented, he would have a career. Now, he sings cover songs
smolderhotter 15th-Aug-2014 09:09 am (UTC)
Because everyone that has a career atm is really talented right? This delusion
ishumy 14th-Aug-2014 09:05 pm (UTC)
Adam was amazing and his chemistry with Brian&Roger is great. I'd support new versions of Queen songs being released (their acoustic Love Kills is fantastic and I'm digging their new take on the last part of Somebody to Love). As much as Queen is not fully Queen without Freddie and JOHN, you can tell Brian and Roger love performing their songs and I could never begrudge them for keep touring and working under the Queen name. I loved when Brian sang '39, that huge nerd.
volare 15th-Aug-2014 12:54 am (UTC)
It makes me sad that Deaky considers himself retired from the band but he put in the time he did and wrote so much of their music as well... can't begrudge him the peace much as I'd love to see him playing with Bri and Rog.

'39 was such a blast! (okay I'm biased but it's one of my favorite Brian songs...)

Still amazed at the chemistry they have with Adam. So much more than the previous tour with Rodgers.

YASSSSSSSSSSS
theantipoet 14th-Aug-2014 09:15 pm (UTC)
I've been really tempted to go see this, but man... I fucking hate stadium concerts.

unless you're willing to shell out $$$$ to Stubhub, you end up like a mile away from the stage and just watching the show over a video screen. may as well just Youtube clips from the concert at that point.
juicybrisket 14th-Aug-2014 09:43 pm (UTC)
this king
prophecypro 14th-Aug-2014 11:02 pm (UTC)
I dont understand the idea of him as a replacement for Freddie and the band going on. Like people are really behind it and I just dont see it
personalburgers 15th-Aug-2014 12:11 am (UTC)
What a fun idea, I'm into it. I don't think the rest of the band should never play again because one of their members is gone...despite that member being so fucking kick ass. Adam seems like a nice guy!
volare 15th-Aug-2014 12:50 am (UTC)
Saw the Boston show and hoooooly shit was their chemistry on! Much better than the tour with Paul Rodgers.
ty 15th-Aug-2014 01:48 am (UTC)
....You're NOT Queen, Brian

You are a fucking tribute band singing covers now
cherie_b 15th-Aug-2014 01:51 am (UTC)
The show in Auburn Hills was fantastic. The chemistry and energy between Adam, Brian, and Roger was evident.

Adam isn't replacing Freddie. He's not trying to. He knows he can't. And because that is very evident, I'm a fan.
thethinwhtduke 15th-Aug-2014 10:49 am (UTC)
imo, this guy should be on tour with them.
