She made her name when she hit the airwaves with an angry song about an ex-boyfriend when You Oughta Know was released as a single.

But almost 20 years later, Alanis Morissette hasn't forgotten the album where it all began.
The 40-year-old singer shared an unedited picture on Thursday from the cover photoshoot for her hit album Jagged Little Pill onto Twitter.

She accompanied the snap to her 404K followers with the message:

Iconic: The album cover itself was a bit more of a psychedelic experience as the picture was superimposed with a close-up image of the Canadian artist in varying hues of red, green, and violet

On Instagram the Canadian reflected even more on the iconic image adding: 'I had just moved to LA. I was 20 years old. There was much giddiness buzzing all around me. All I knew was that I wrote a record that I loved and represented me well. I was unwilling to stop until I had. 'I collaborated with many co-writers in both canada and america and persevered until I was in an environment that had no agenda for me other than that I was expressed well.'

She even made sure to mention famed American songwriter Glen Ballard, who produced the album: 'I found this when I met glen ballard…who supported me in being ME. God bless him. And God bless this time period.'

Not so Ironic: The album was both a commercial and critical success selling over 33 million worldwide and being honoured with the Grammy Award for Album Of The Year in 1996

Glen has had quite a storied career as he has also worked with Michael Jackson, Van Halen, Aerosmith, No Doubt, Shakira, Christina Aguilera, and Katy Perry.
