Zoe Saldana Came to This Galaxy to Become a Star and She Won't Stop Until She Fulfills Her Contract

Zoe Saldana’s done pretty well for herself in recent years. She’s had major parts in Star Trek, Star Trek: Into Darkness, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and the highest grossing film of all-time (to feature Unobtanium), Avatar. Those four movies alone have made approximately $73 billion, which ALMOST equals the box office total for Saldana’s greatest achievement, Crossroads. She’ll add a couple more zeroes to that number this weekend, when Guardians of the Galaxy comes out. To help promote the film, because it really needs it, Saldana posed nude in Women’s Health U.K.

My body is less toned. I do look in the mirror and see things I don’t want. My first reaction is I breathe and I think, “I’m a woman. I’m 36. My body is changing.” I do feel beautiful in a way that even when I was working out a whole lot, I sometimes didn’t. Because there have been times that I was really slender and I didn’t like that I sometimes looked a little too muscular and flat chested — you’ll never be completely happy, so at the end of the day it’s like, “Fuck it. Just be happy, regardless.” (Via)

“You’ll never be completely happy.” Now there’s a celebrity quote I can get behind.

I don't think I'll ever be 100% happy with my body but whatever, I know it's heading downhill from here especially since I don't exercise. It's like that quote from Troy "you'll never be more beautiful than you are now" or something.
karinette001 30th-Jul-2014 04:06 pm (UTC)
honestly all i want is more muscles and that's it; my flat ass is somewhat a lost cause (especially because of genetics+ I'm white).
champagnexdream 30th-Jul-2014 04:07 pm (UTC)
My ideal body is my own but with 30 lbs. off of it tbh. I have a really nice shape, thank God.
hrdtxpln 30th-Jul-2014 04:09 pm (UTC)
Good to hear your ideal body is your own but just with a few changes! I'd like to lose like 10 lbs but I'm already like 2 lbs above the "underweight" mark RME because other people my height can still be so light. :( :( :(
champagnexdream 30th-Jul-2014 04:11 pm (UTC)
Yeah it took me so long to appreciate my shape but now I really do and am so thankful for it. I have a ScarJo-esque body but with more fat. Lol.

BMI doesn't mean shit bb but still, be careful. ♥ I'm sure you are fine the way you are!

<3 When I was underweight, I still thought I looked too big. It was always just two, just three more lbs. Now I'm normal weight (like, 20 BMI, which I have to specify because this is ontd), and I want to go back down a little.

Don't hurt yourself, bb, be safe!
hypnology 30th-Jul-2014 04:07 pm (UTC)
You’ll never be completely happy.
While I do agree, I think it is important to also learn to be content with your body. I know mine isn't perfect but that's okay
jellycar 30th-Jul-2014 04:21 pm (UTC)
yeah iawt
candycanegrl 30th-Jul-2014 04:07 pm (UTC)
I love that gif
redheadbynight 30th-Jul-2014 04:08 pm (UTC)
ugh I really, really need to get back into an exercise regime - running occasionally in this hot ass muggy weather isn't cutting it

ideal body is still Rihanna or maybe Rachel McAdams - toned and very trim but like, thick... ish
ljubavirakija 30th-Jul-2014 04:08 pm (UTC)
I'm content with my body; but, I could lose a few pounds. It's all about confidence.
candycanegrl 30th-Jul-2014 04:08 pm (UTC)
I have been working my ass off working for an hour a day doing Jillian Michaels videos and going on the treadmill running. I feel so much better. I also have started counting calories and eating healthier. I hope to lose 30 pounds. /csb

I'm about to turn 30 and I need to STEP. IT. UP. Exercise isn't the difficult part for me tbh, it's eating the right foods and finding time to cook so I don't get bored of a bland diet. I wish I could snap my fingers and have a ballerina body.

I just bought this book lol: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Strong-Curves-Bret-Contreras/dp/1936608642/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1406736416&sr=8-1&keywords=strong+curves+a+woman%27s+guide+to+building+a+better+butt+and+body

Obviously her body is fantastic, but I am sure it's hard to feel 100% satisfied in that profession. I don't really have an "ideal" body type, I think there are a lot of ways to have a beautiful body.
pacehim 30th-Jul-2014 04:09 pm (UTC)
Looks like they photoshopped her curvier a la eva longoria

hrdtxpln 30th-Jul-2014 04:11 pm (UTC)
Why'd they do that with her face and arms? They looked fine.
clouddomino 30th-Jul-2014 04:13 pm (UTC)
I'm surprised they thickened her arms a little. Usually it's the opposite.
marzipanism 30th-Jul-2014 06:37 pm (UTC)
idt they thickened them, just removed the muscle line and her armpit
dusti_books 31st-Jul-2014 06:03 am (UTC)
Right? Her arms AND legs, though I guess they pulled in her torso so not completely adding weight.
manita_bestija 30th-Jul-2014 06:28 pm (UTC)
yup, people here acting like photo shoot portraits aren't completely altered before the pics get published.
marzipanism 30th-Jul-2014 04:09 pm (UTC)
I am surprised she is 36! I thought she was late 20's for sure
huppert 30th-Jul-2014 04:13 pm (UTC)
I thought she was in her early 40's lol
marzipanism 30th-Jul-2014 04:14 pm (UTC)
may be the hard lines around her mouth but that's just some people's faces

also Blake Lively
sterek_hts 30th-Jul-2014 04:24 pm (UTC)
mte
clouddomino 30th-Jul-2014 04:13 pm (UTC)
I never actually thought about her age before. Weird.
manita_bestija 30th-Jul-2014 06:20 pm (UTC)
dude, she looks like she's in her forties.....
cordyceps 30th-Jul-2014 04:14 pm (UTC)
Honestly it doesn't matter how gorgeous you are, you'll probably still find something about your body that you don't like. Especially in entertainment.

Ugh, being sick for the last few weeks and having nothing to do but eat has made me feel out of shape. I want to go back to yoga, hopefully next week. I actually lost weight though, but I can tell it's all muscle. :(
jennyherself 30th-Jul-2014 04:16 pm (UTC)
I hate the feeling of your muscles withering away. It's like all that progress just poof gone.
cordyceps 30th-Jul-2014 04:18 pm (UTC)
Yeah. It totally sucks. I'm the type of person who gains muscle quickly but I lose it equally quickly if I don't keep up. I'm still in shape but just the weak feeling is the worst.
placentipede 30th-Jul-2014 04:17 pm (UTC)
I started workign more hours and I've been having trouble motivating myself to work out. I can feel the definition I had gotten disappearing.

Fuck, I gotta start back up today.
pippivirgin 30th-Jul-2014 04:15 pm (UTC)
I can't figure out what I don't like about her....

My ideal body is my body with just down like 15 pounds and with more muscular arms. I realllyyyyy want to get great arms. My legs are perfect for me I love them even though I'm short
jellycar 30th-Jul-2014 04:19 pm (UTC)
all I want is skinnier legs, but they don't look so bad in photos so it might just be my imagination.

Zoe is so gorgeous, I still thought she was in her 20s wow
