Zendaya & Val Chmerkovskiy Visit Kids at St. Mary's Hospital in New York

JJJ knows Zendaya and Val Chmerkovskiy aren’t a couple, but if they were, they’d make the cutest little family ever!

The 17-year-old actress and her former Dancing With The Stars pro partner/friend headed to St. Mary’s Hospital in New York where they visited with the children during a break from Sway practices.

“Nothing better than this,” Val captioned with one of the cute photos he shared on Instagram.

Zendaya added, “This little nugget just crawled into my lap…#heartmelted thanks for having us @stmaryskidsNY @iamvalc”.

And some words on the aaliyah topic *again*

Zendaya just could not be more awesome. She probably could, but as of this very moment, she’s the coolest person in our books.

The 17-year-old actress shared some wisdom on Instagram about the Aaliyah movie, why she dropped out and more.

“Let me just explain something. The reason why I chose not to do the Aaliyah movie had nothing to do with the haters or the people telling me I couldn’t do it, I wasn’t talented enough, or I wasn’t black enough. The main reasons were the production value wasn’t there, there were complications with the music rights, and I just felt like it wasn’t being handled delicately considering the situation,” Zendaya said.

She continued. “And I tried my best to reach out to the family on my own, and I wrote a letter, but I was unable to do so therefore I felt not morally OK with moving forward with the project. With all that being said, congratulations to the new woman playing Aaliyah. I only hope that she does not have to deal with half the hate I had to deal with. And remember that we are all human beings trying to do what we love to do. Let’s practice motivation and love, not discrimination and hate.”

In case you missed it, Alexandra Shipp was just announced as the new actress in the role.
