'Dance Moms' star Maddie Ziegler says Sia was starstruck by her (as she should)

Dance Moms star Maddie Ziegler says that one of the biggest pop stars in the world was starstruck when first meeting her. The 11-year-old star of the hit Lifetime reality show and Abby Lee's Dance Company got her first big break by appearing on singer and songwriter Sia's latest single, Chandelier and says the Australian native was "fan-girling" over the pint-sized dancer. Maddie told Vulture: "The first day I met her, she just came up and gave me a giant hug and said, 'I can't believe I'm with you right now! I'm such a big fan.' It was just so funny because she's a really big star and really successful singer and everything, and I couldn't believe that she was fan-girling over me."

As far as how she landed the role in her new video, Maddie says that Sia reached out to the show via social media. She said, "Sia was a fan of our show. She actually tweeted us, "Hey, Maddie, would you like to be in my new video for my new song Chandelier? I was just like, whoa, this is pretty cool."

Sia, who is notorious for staying out the spotlight and refusing to be photographed, joined Maddie for a performance of Chandelier during a recent taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. During the routine, the singer kept her back to the camera while Maddie dove into her dance routine for the audience.

I haven't seen Dance Moms since season 2 but Maddie deserves the success, she's so talented and dedicated. ♥
