'I SHOULD Be So Lucky' singer Kylie Minogue has admitted she would love to make a return to acting after not being "particularly proud" of her earlier big screen roles.
The longtime hitmaker originally got her break on the small screen in Neighbours but failed to make her mark in Hollywood, and she would love to land some roles to boost her profile in the US.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "I get such a thrill out of doing that as it takes me back to where I started. It is a completely different challenge.
"And it is nice to not be Kylie for a while. I truly love acting. I guess I get to do some acting in song videos - even putting on a happy face when you don't feel that way."
While Kylie has attempted a big screen switch before - including main roles in box office flops like 'The Delinquents' and 'Street Fighter' - she doesn't feel she has given herself something to be "particularly proud of".
She said: "I have had roles here and there in various films, but nothing much I am particularly proud of.
"Acting is where I started when I was 11 years old, and as we all know 'Neighbours' is the show that I became a household name in. Then when I did 'Delinquents' that was such an exciting new world.
"I knew I was green and this was a learning ground but I did think that would be the road I would take - and it just transpired that it wasn't."
Kylie Minogue was another of the glamourous attendees at this year's amFAR's 21st Cinema Against AIDS Gala and she really did step back in time with her ensemble on Thursday night.
The petite pop starmanaged to put her own twist on old school Holywood glamour in a plunging dusty rose coloured satin gown with a tie-knot on the waist from designer Juan Carlos Obando.
She swept her voluminous hair to one side in a beach wave and added some retro hoop earrings, much like fellow guest Tamara Ecclestone did.
Kylie also got to live out of her dreams when she was photographed with fellow guest Jane Fonda on the red carpet, tweeting photos of herself with the legendary actress and writing '#LifeMade'.
She'd had a busy day of performances and promotional appearances, as well as mingling with the great and good of Hollywood, naturally.
But it would seem that Kylie Minogue was well and truly ready for bed as she arrived at Roberto Cavalli's star-studded Cannes Film Festival yacht party on Wednesday night.
Appearing to have taken sartorial inspiration from a kimono-style dressing gown, the diminutive pop princess showcased her rather pert posterior in a lilac silk playsuit as she boarded the luxury vessel.
