Michael Jackson Tops ‘Billboard 200′ With ‘Xscape’

Five years after his untimely passing, ‘Liberian Girl’ singer Michael Jackson has topped the Billboard 200 with his latest post-humous release ‘Xscape’, outperforming The Black Keys‘ Warner-backed effort ‘Turn Blue.’

Debuting with 161,909 sold, ‘Xscape’ opened at #1 thanks the 572 units that separated from Black‘s ‘Blue’, which showed up at #2 with 161,337 copies sold.

Now standing as the late singer’s sixth #1 album, ‘Xscape’ reached the top of the ’200′ three years after the release of his first posthumous effort ‘Michael’, which opened with 228,000 units but peaked at #3, doing so with the aid of the Akon-featured ‘Hold My Hand’ the Ryuichi Sakamoto-produced ‘Behind The Mask.’
