StudioCanal Agrees to Finance "Bastille Day"
According to the Hollywood Reporter, the action-packed terrorist thriller Bastille Day has secured financing from France-based StudioCanal. The film will star Idris Elba and Adele Exarchopoulos, and will be directed by James Watkins, who is perhaps best known for his work on The Woman in Black.
The Cannes Film Festival is, traditionally, a time where major casting news and distribution deals tend occur in rapid succession. By setting up its financing, Bastille Day has everything it needs to secure worldwide distribution when the festival kicks off tomorrow.
The movie will tell the story of a former CIA agent (Elba) and an American artist (Exarchopoulos) living in Paris when they become embroiled in a major terrorist plot, and the two must work together to stop the attack from occurring. The film is being written by Andrew Baldwin, whose only other credited work is an as-yet-unnamed Jason Bourne sequel.
Adele Exarchopoulos In Louis Vuitton – ‘Grace of Monaco’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere & Opening Ceremony
On the playground where we discovered her this time last year, Adele Exarchopoulos took to the red carpet for the opening ceremony of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, which also served as the ‘Grace of Monaco’ premiere this evening (May 14).
The French actress wore a Louis Vuitton custom look which bears hallmarks – mostly the pleather bustier and trims – of the Fall 2014 collection.
Her glam look with a youthful edge was styled with a purposely messy side braid, shimmering silver eye makeup, dazzling diamond earrings and a Louis Vuitton clutch.
This was a perfect way to open her Cannes account.
Do you agree?
I'm glad she's getting those roles ^___^
