Doutzen Kroes: 'I want my daughter to have different aspirations'Dutch supermodel Doutzen Kroes won't be encouraging her unborn daughter to follow her into modelling, instead she'll be telling her she can be a president.
She may be one the most successful and best-paid models in the industry but that doesn't mean Doutzen Kroes wants her unborn daughter to follow in her posing footsteps.
The Dutch model, who is due to give birth to her second child with DJ husband Sunnery James in the coming months, says she'll emphasise her daughter's intelligence over her beauty.
"Instead of saying, 'You're so beautiful,' I'll say, 'You're smart,' so she'll have different aspirations in life than beauty and modelling," the 29-year-old told Page Six.
"Though I love my job, I'm not changing the world. I'd love for her to study and to have different aspirations. We need to teach girls they can become presidents, and it's not about beauty all the time."
Kroes, who regularly models for Victoria's Secret, already has a three-year-old son, Phyllon, with her husband.
