Hailee Steinfeld Joins Pitch Perfect 2



Looks like Hailee Steinfeld should start brushing up on her vocal chops!

The 17-year-old actress has joined the cast of Pitch Perfect 2, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 smash hit. No further details have been released, although Steinfeld will share the silver screen with fellow castmembers Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow, who are set to reprise their roles.

Elizabeth Banks, who will direct the sequel, first revealed the news via Twitter, writing,


Steinfeld's casting marks the first high-profile role to be added to the star-studded ensemble, and clearly, the brunette beauty is bursting with enthusiasm.


Last week, Rebel Wilson posted a shot from the first day of rehearsals, in which Wilson, along with Elizabeth Banks, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Kelley Jakle, Alexis Knapp and Hanna Mae Lee appear excited to be back together and are posing against a bright graffiti mural. Anna Kendrick, Anna Camp and Skylar Astin are noticeably missing from the cute photograph.

"1st day of PP2 rehearsals!" the Australian actress, who portrays Fat Amy, added along with the smiling snapshot of the lovely ladies.


While the stars have yet to divulge any secrets from the highly anticipated flick, E! News recently caught up with Astin, who admitted he had to even read the script!

I just got the script and not for the sake of this interview, I have not read it yet," the 26-year-old actor revealed. "Just because I am in New York and I am visiting my family and don't want to get myself too excited. Or if I get disappointed by anything I want to make sure I do it on a clean slate in my house in Los Angeles, with a cup of coffee."

And while he may be aware of the tunes he's singing, Astin admitted that info is top secret.

"There is no way I can mention anything and it's not only because I would get in so much trouble because the confidentiality agreement, but also because it can change at any minute."

Guess we'll have to wait and see! Pitch Perfect 2 hits theaters May 15, 2015.
